Well I can tell you used the eraser instead of the pen tool or even the lasso. It's not bad...but its definatly not the best. Look at some tutorials on how to cut out renders to see how to use the pen tool and/or lasso.

That's extremely jagged, and like Tj said look at some tutorials to use.

The area around the feet still has a dark outline and the winglike parts look pretty haphazardly done. Look for some tutorials on like planet renders or something to get a clearer outline.

Instructions on doing good renders

 

 

 

1 ) Open Adobe Photoshop

 

 

 

2 ) Open image in Adobe Photoshop

 

 

 

3 ) Select Filters > Extract

 

 

 

4 ) Learn to use extract tool and use it to smoothly cut renders

 

 

 

5 ) Erase excess pixels using a 1-2 px brush

 

 

 

6 ) Smile because you have a great render

4 ) Make a nice polygon around the image with pen tool using Beizer curves

 

 

 

5 ) Right click ( with pen tool still active ) and choose "Make Selection"

 

 

 

6 ) Press OK on the default settings

 

 

 

7 ) Press Ctrl + Shift + I to invert selection

 

 

 

8 ) Press Delete

 

 

 

9 ) Smile because you have a great render

1 ) Too rough, use small brush sizes when cutting around small/smooth parts

 

 

 

2 ) Post the original as well for people to see how much work it was
