  1. About the programs Dont bother buying oC ( Open Canvas ) or ArtRage oC v4.5 is the latest but costs $69 oC v1.1 is freeware and is available around the net ( googling will do the job ) another thing - oc 1.1 has a feature 4.5 doesnt - network support ( doing collaborative work over the net ) I googled for you go to Steps to get oC v1.1 1 ) Go to http://www.warpaint.se 2 ) Press Download 3 ) Press Download Installer 4 ) Wait for the download to complete and install Now you have oC 1.1 along with warpaint server software Check warpaint.se for info about what the server is
  2. i dont suggest shelling out that much on a professional standard tablet go for a cheap local one instead i got mine for Indian Rupees 2,500 ( approx USD 50 ) and its not one of those big time branded ones but it is really great. I might buy an expensive wacom later, but for students i recommend cheap ones.
  3. i suggest to make sure u take a tablet trust me, anyone who wants to go into gfx will greatly be benefited by one i know people dont use tablets while pixelling but other stuff sure needs it especially if u airbrush in photoshop
  4. they are linked directly to jagex page so i think jagex is not allowing them to be shown here reuploaded on imageshack ( links in quote changed to imageshack ones )
  5. agreed with nardil too many renders = too confusing and jumbled in most cases you cant guess wheres the start of the particular render and wheres the end i did a sig 500 X 200 with a total 6 renders ( was real crappy but who cares ) but to make sure it was not jumbled, i had 3 renders on one side and 3 on the other and to add up, first side was staring at the second one who was staring back. So it looked like they gonna jump to kill each other any moment but still it was not really good to look at to end up, i will say "too may renders spoil the sig" ( we cant have cooks here can we ? ) :P
  6. Instructions on doing good renders 1 ) Open Adobe Photoshop 2 ) Open image in Adobe Photoshop 3 ) Select Filters > Extract 4 ) Learn to use extract tool and use it to smoothly cut renders 5 ) Erase excess pixels using a 1-2 px brush 6 ) Smile because you have a great render Tutorials for using extract tool http://www.bluesfear.com/tutorials/extract.php http://www.heathrowe.com/tuts/extracttool.asp Or another method 1 )Open Adobe Photoshop 2 ) Open image in Adobe Photoshop 3 ) Learn to use pen tool of Adobe Photoshop 4 ) Make a nice polygon around the image with pen tool using Beizer curves 5 ) Right click ( with pen tool still active ) and choose "Make Selection" 6 ) Press OK on the default settings 7 ) Press Ctrl + Shift + I to invert selection 8 ) Press Delete 9 ) Smile because you have a great render Tutorials on learning pen tool http://www.adobetutorialz.com/articles/ ... l-Tutorial http://www.tutorialstreet.com/tuts/drawing-paths/ http://www.heathrowe.com/tuts/pentool2.asp http://www.phazongraphics.com/forum/vie ... php?t=2380 http://s11.invisionfree.com/fantazydezi ... wtopic=318 PS : The instructions are so step by step because I expect some hopeless cases to come across my post That was for dietokill2 and other people who want to learn to cut renders And now about the image 1 ) Too rough, use small brush sizes when cutting around small/smooth parts 2 ) Post the original as well for people to see how much work it was
  7. I have just added a new photoshopped version of Look Behind http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/52247121/ Its fully colored, shaded and highlighted now Check it out and tell me what you think
  8. Thanks for the comments got rid of it more comments plz :D they cant be that bad
  9. These are 2 of my old sketches Drawn with an HB pencil Then inked with a regular black pen and pencil work erased here goes Note : The "Original Image" means the well, original image, but rotated and cropped, without change in dimensions. The "Resized Image" is a resized, smaller version of "Original Image" And the "Photoshopped Image" is a modification of "Original Image", not much modified, only removed the paper and other stuff, kind of like every stray thing removed, and a minor cropping. Just see and u will understand lol 1 ) Take A Look Behind Original Image ( 1.11 MB - 1708 X 2188 ) : Resized Image ( 562 KB - 800 X 1025 ) : Photoshopped Image ( 231 KB - 1672 X 2184 ) : Description : A dragon sitting on a rock kind thing, and a warrior kind of guy jumping out of nowhere from behind to slash him down :D 2 ) Beat Me Up Original Image ( 1.48 MB - 1600 X 1716 ) : Description : A cyborgish guy at the verge of slashing down a noob :D I seem to have lost the resized and photoshopped one of this one :( Yea, i love making fantasy and fights Well thats all for now Made them way back ( not enough time to anything else than study these days - exams in march :D ) Out of the two, i like the first one And they took forever to upload on my ultra slow connection :P C/C Pl0x EDIT: I just photoshopped the Look Behind and it came out pretty good :D Here is the deviant link http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/52247121/
  10. u sure know how to do some good graffiti and yea, i do it all time while taking notes :P the only c/c i have is :- use color and make em in a drawing file instead of notebooks and yea , study :P
  11. great vector and i agree with tjbart - shade and highlight the hair a little. [offtopic]yea i saw his myspace, and his avatar is a rough portrait of him :D
  12. first off... CONGRATZ :D now bout the image well its messing around so i cant give much c/c on it yea but i can say its a lil nice but i sure expect ur future works to be like ur awesome pixels
  13. oh.. come on it cant be that bad oh.. and btw i just noticed that the nose of the goblin looks a lil wierd around the middle
  14. Hi I thought i will try my hand at painting made a nice little goblin no tablet - mouse only around an hour or less heres the original goblin i came up with in the end after tweaking of the hue, saturation and brightness a little, heres what i came up with. looks better according to me oh.. and the wierd alien head another with transparent bg for info on how to make those curvy lines in the alien head, check here c/c plz
  15. the only one i like is the boney hand i dont mean to be rude but the others look like drawn by a real young kid in the dragon one, he looks like a kid coz his face is too big compared to the rest of him the wings look like fixed instead of being able to make him fly click here for help on making wings ( i did not make the tut, its a demon wing tut but works for dragons too ) in the strongest man alive, the anatomy is too off in the expressionless warrior, his anatomy is a lil better, but only of the upper body ( except face of course ) this is all the cc i cud give
  16. wow great for a first time at digi painting ur prev work was awesome I really like the hair nice work on the hue shifts on highlighting but around the shading, u have just darkened it, i mean if u have added hue changes while highlighting, there shud be some for shading as well a lil will do
  17. edit : nice idea ( wrote some useless dumb big text earlier )
  18. great one but i meantt the full size one of this one and not the drawing topic one anyway i like those big ones :D
  19. always admired your pixels but after going through them i must say one thing your style of anatomy is a lil wierd almost all ur characters' upper - upper body is way too wide and lower- upper body is way to thin i mean the area around the chest is wide and around the stomach is way too thin gives a fall sense of huge male breasts lol think you should start working on the anatomy i mean its not really that bad but needs to shape up a lil best of luck
  20. Yup i play cs too :D but Gunz The Duel is gettin a larger part of me these days :) [ontopic]Great work on the saliva of the wolf When i look at it in the details thing, it looks great ( and scary :P ) after reading your "how i draw" topic, i must ask, did u resize it down ? As in there u mentioned the nice lil proportions you use So did you resize this down after making it ? If yes, it would be great if you would add a link ( a link, not img - will kill dial-up users ) to the full size one
  21. c/c already here DONT use the line tool that much! dude there are no curves or nothing So its too well, too straight Heres how i think the wings should look
  22. amazing art love ur style of mixing anime and realism the only part that bugs me is that at some places the highlighting is too intense, giving a false sense of plastic and the dude's fingers look more like rubber ( left hand ) but still its amazing and i had a look at ur gallery as well some great artwork
  23. For those who dont have a Wacom this tutorial might be useful ( shameless self-promotion ) :P Jkin I think you could link it up there where ur telling em to use the pen tool - my tut has instructions on how to make those sexy curvy lines with varying widths like when u ink drawings on paper for making a comic oh.. and by the way nice tut ( though the jest's legs are a lil too long ) my tut works for photoshop 7 and above ( coz the particular featuer used is available in 7 and above only )
  24. nice but i would increase the polygon count and make it smoother in the render it is too boxy heres my c/c ( In jpeg form :P )
  25. Something i tried because of boredom and hapiness of my new ipod :P lol its pretty crappy :P
