Ya, the anatomy is pretty good, it seems to me that the the right arm of the ranger and the right arm of the guy in the second one are a bit long. The whips look kind of wierd, might want to work on those.

They both need heavy improvement in terms of contrast, anatomy, composition and shading. >_<

Hard to see. A lot of the shading is gradient style (hopefully that was pixeled by hand).

If you want to work on your anatomy, what you need to do is not start with the clothing, but with everything underneath, start out with a stick figure (for the pose), work into skeleton (be sure to keep a good reference picture close and keep checking, don't be afraid to start over on parts. After that you can add the muscles and flesh and what not, the depth you create that way will be a great help on your shading, too.

do you think that i should make the contrast and shading more stressed like in my sig?

My opinion is that maybe you should make the shading on the mage's dress (At the bottom) more to the curve, notice that curved shading doesn't exactly go right-angle, secondly with the anatomy, the inside of the arms shouldn't be as stiff, try making it more curved as well to show the movement with it to make it look more human, lastly the background behind the tree's and such could do with more effect (Just some stars and the such, but other then that not a heap)

it has 313 different colors and in my pc the total size of the pic is 31 799 Bytes

 

and if you see something wrong in the pics id like to know how to make it better
