You could also go into the alching area with a fire staff and wait for a "free item" arrow to show up - then each one of that item you alch costs 0 nats and you get the full magic xp for that spell (either high or low alch).

What does this mean? Is there free alchs in this place?

Yeah, I guess.

But im sure its also very slow.

Quest cape obtained at combat level 83, march 07.

Every 10 minutes or so, one of the items on the Alching list will be come a Free Alch. Meaning, when you alch that certain item you do not use up any runes! Don't think of this as being a cheap way of training magic, as you'd have to wait for the item to become a free alch, and you'd also have to find it in one of the 10 cabinents. =D>

It happens a LOT more frequently than every 10 minutes. I'd say you can spend 2/3 of your time in there alching for free. With depositing the money you get, it's probably about the same amount of exp as alching normally. The only downside is you can't make any money from doing it, but unless you're making things from scratch, alching loses money anyway. So you can use the mage training arena instead of spending all that time making bows.
