I might try and get to 48 smithing, so I can make Steel Plate Bodies.

 

 

 

I'm going to use Iron and make Iron plate bodies, until I can create steel ones.

 

 

 

I will then, start mining iron, say 500, and BUY 1000 coal..Then make steel plate bodies and sell-- would I earn a profit?

The "shield which protects from dragonfire" is given to you by the Duke of Lumbridge, at an appropriate point in the quest, after asking Oziach about it.

 

 

 

It is similar in overall stats to an iron square, but is also popular with mage players in F2P as it has +2 magic defence and no magic attack penalties - the best mage/anti-mage shield in F2P - the orange rectangular one that many that many F2P players wield along with wizard robes and a staff.

 

 

 

The Duke replaces it free, and the drop trick enables several to be collected.

When I was F2P I mined iron (great cash, and even at level 50 mining already a good moneymaker). It sells for 100ea.

 

 

 

You could also start runecrafting airs, at level 55 it starts to get a very good moneymaker.

I'm going to throw something way different in here (because I can :lol: ).

 

 

 

I financed a majority of my full rune with iron arrows. I camped down at the Minotaurs in Stronghold of Security and got ~5,000 iron arrows. Sold for 20gp each (lower end of price at the time) for 100K gp.

 

 

 

Not only that, but got combat levels and prayer levels down there, along with full zombie.

 

 

 

Not sure if they'll hit you too much though to make it effective. I was somewhere around 50 def at the time.

 

 

 

Disclaimer:This was before the accumulator came out for members. I'm not sure if the iron arrow market is still at 20gp each. They weren't always an immediate sell, but it didn't take hours and hours.
