coldvenom
First of all, here are my computer stats: I downloaded the official client from http://www.guildwars.com. I installed it and it downloaded the required files perfectly fine but when I go to play it, the screen goes black and the GuildWars mouse pointer appears. I wait about 2 minutes and the screen changes to the "blue screen of death" and it tells me to restart the computer. I did that and it still does it. I tried looking at the support section of the GuildWars website and I found nothing pertaining to what I needed. I tried uninstalling it then reinstalling it to no avail. What should I do next? sig by me avatar by: born2dieMy Website -> Coldvenom.CO.NR <- My Website
magerx7
I have a problem similar to this, and I made a topic about it on here. I also had the right requirements to play it. The problem I am having though is that the whole screen will go black and I can still hear the sound of GW but no picture. I would turn my monitor on and off and it would say "No signal input" which is exactly what it does when I turn the monitor on and not the computer. Many people said my graphics card probably needed an update. Someone researched it and couldn't find anything on my graphics card. So it's probably either your graphics card overloading and totally shutting down, or, which this probably isn't it, your monitor can't handle the intense graphics. I don't know if that was any help or not, but that's what I was told. :D
coldvenom
I do not think it would be the graphics card shutting down completly, I just go the computer yesterday... It worked on my laptop but that crapped out. sig by me avatar by: born2dieMy Website -> Coldvenom.CO.NR <- My Website

Bmms
k since your using the integrated video, you need to make sure that guildwars supports it i can find it anywhere on there site, but im sure it doesn't support integrated video, so you might need a video card ok found them http://www.guildwars.com/support/faq/nightfall-faq.php#support try to look around for a list of support video cards and stuff like that Aefx(started 11/1/2002) Cb: 200 TS: 1900+Bmms--Jr(Started on 1/24/06)(Banned 11/13/09 ) Cb: 119(pre-eoc) TS: 1700+Bmms(Started 8/?/2001)(Banned 1/24/06 ) Cb: 101(pre-eoc) TS: 1350+
coldvenom
I would think it would work, I believe it is the same card that I used on my laptop before, I would try to check my laptop but it is completely dead. Some stuff appears on the screen, just the mouse(special guild wars pointer not the normal mouse) so I don't really think that the video card would be the problem. If that is the problem, how much does a good new video card cost? sig by me avatar by: born2dieMy Website -> Coldvenom.CO.NR <- My Website

If you read one of my other posts in which i stated i have the say graphics card on my laptop on this computer as my laptop but that died so i cant use it anymore. i am not sure if it is a graphics card problem because some of the graphics show up(like the mouse.) the sound also plays. I have tried to play on a friends computer before on a non-supported video card and a specific window popped up that said it was not supported. sig by me avatar by: born2dieMy Website -> Coldvenom.CO.NR <- My Website

zonda
before getting a new card, try this. First, read this page: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Command_line After doing so, go to your short cut, and try turning down the resolution, graphics settings, setting it to windows mode, ect. You then might be able to run guild wars (if you cross your fingers), though it isn't going to look pretty. ...
