How often do they drop there better items (e.g. dragon spear)

Can't really give an estimate but it's really rare. The chance of getting one of them is pretty small.

Very rarely your more likely to get from fire giants or something else.

i've killed well over 5k and never had a rare drop from them.

yeah, and just for convience, your better off against green dragons in low wildly, just because of location... if i had to guess, iv probly killed 8k-10k dragons in my rs lifespan and iv only gotton 1 drag med helm and 2 drag spears.. the spears were from red dragons and the helm from a green drag

Just oen last question would you suggest trainging on tzar or blue dragons

You are more likely to get drops from Tzar than blue drags. Best thing about blue drags though is that by the time you get a Tzar drop, you could probably buy a few of em from the profits made from hides and bones.
