How to be a pure ranger?

Hey everyone I'm new to the game and also new to the forums here. I started playing RS for 2 days now and I decided that I wanted to be a pure ranger. But how do I do it and what are the best stats for a pure ranger? Would really appreciate it if I get some help here, thx.

PS: Nearly all my stats are at the very beginning, which is 1.

1.get some bronze arrows (maybe from drop parties or looting in wildy etc.)

2.train on the rats in varrock sewers until 20range

3.train on lvl 12 minotaurs in SoS, then train on lvl 27s when ur higher lvl

4.at higher range lvl (maybe 60+) , go train on lessers in karamja

btw dont get def if u wanna be pure. hope that helps :)

Really appreciate all the helpful comments u guys gave me, but I'm wondering if I don't get defense stats, suppose I go pking like three months later when I have a high ranging level, e.g. 50+ or so, will I get beaten by melee users easily?

Training range is usually free in the stronghold, safespotting Minotaurs from behind the fence and using their own arrow drops against them, boredom is the only problem - it's completely changed the complexion of F2P range training.

PS. Ranger PK's against mage, where possible, and tries to maintain distance from melee. Many melee pures also wear dragonhide as it is better defence than iron, theough the mele pur would normally have iron for the remaining pieces, while the ranger has leather.

There gets to a point where melee is incredibly hard to deal with, because of powerrfl dds specs. You might want to use all three types of combat, but if not that's fine.

The only thing I can't stress enough is Do No Get PRAYER. It's not worth it in the long run and becomes a huge inhibitor.

if you just started the game i suggest that you should try to get a main first then a pure.

training a pure cost alot of money, you really can't afford it if you just started the game two days ago.

yes, he makes a real good point. pures cost a ton of money. just make a main and a pure when u get some cash and a better feeling for the game oherwse u ill have to rebuild the pure neways

If you're just starting follow the route I did on my new main, since I'm experienced I made 1m in just 2 days on a lvl 3 account! Starting completely from scratch.

Here's how, after this you can decide to be a pure and fund yourself, or take the better route and make a main. I'm making a pure staker, and after I make 100m(really shouldn't be too hard) I'm going to turn it into a full on main and begin questing, so here's how.

Keep your bronze pic off of tut island and go staright to varrock east mine, mine 1k copper and 1k tin, this really won't take as long as it sounds and then smelt them all in al kharid. Sell the bars for 200 ea, now you just made 200k, you never have to mine again. Now you take the 200k and buy iron ores at 100 ea, be sure to buy enough rings of forging to not lose any profit. Now sell the bars you made(should be about 1800 bars) for 250gp ea. Now you're up to 450k, repeat the same process and this should get you up to about 1m. Now you're at the point where you can start merching. I haven't gotten to the merching stage yet, but using this little guide you'll be a very sucessful new player. Just remember, skills BEFORE combat, or you won't be happy cuz you'll need armor, you'll need food, you won't be able to get it.

(I haven't done it, but I've also heard that mining ess from lvl 1 and RCing will turn VERY profitable after only a couple of weeks.)

Who in the world buys bronze bars for 200gp each?

Everyone. They sold in about 5 minutes, nobody makes bronze bars, so they're really hard to find, people need about 500 to be able to start smelting and smithing iron so they buy em. You could sell em for 400 if you want, people want them, nobody makes them. 200 was easy to sell em at.
