Barrows "We'll finish this later"

I've been doing barrows for a pretty long time and I've noticed something strange. Sometimes when fighting a brother in the tunnels, he suddenly disappears, while leaving the message "we'll finish the later" in your chatbox.

 

What does this mean? And has it any kind of effect on something?

I think its because you run out of their range (even if they are melee brothers). This happens to me sometimes when I try to get to a safespot.

From your description, you have either:

 

 

 

1. Took to long to kill them, so they got bored and 'will finish this later'.

 

 

 

2. The second you landed a blow that would kill him, the brother has healed (either by natural healing or by Guthan's effect), but even if his hp wasnt 0 after the splash, he still will die and leave that message.

 

 

 

Either way it serves no purpose
