Kiriyama
Yeah well its cutting out. Any insights on how to solve this? I changed to power cable and my Dad has checked power settings. Denizen of Darkness| PSN= sworddude198
McGuff1
Can you explain this problem in a little more detail. Does computer shut right off or is Windows still running? Any error messages? Could be an overheating problem if you leave it on all the time. Remove cover to cool it off temporally. Does it happen when you run a certain program or do a certain thing within the program? Disk isn't full is it?
Kiriyama
The computer shuts right off, no error messages, could be due to build up of dust, only seems to happen when playing RS It has 2 fans and nothing is in disc tray. McGuff1
...only seems to happen when playing RS Simple. Just don't play RS. =; Just kidding. :-w Do you have SUN's Java installed or just Microsoft's Java? I'm assuming you are using some version of Windows operating system. Java is a CPU intensive program. Could be causing overheating. Blow the dust out of the CPU fan if you have any. Those spray air cans work good for that. mastermule52
Couple comments offtopic before I get on topic: Java isn't a cpu intensive program. RuneScape is. ;-) Don't confuse the two. Second, why "temporarily" remove the cover? :P I've moved between 4 different living locations since I last had a cover on my comp - I found it when I got back to my apartment :P anyway... on topic Do you have any REALLY gpu intensive games? that's Gpu (graphics) so if you have... Oblivion? Or another game that uses intense graphics? what happens then. Another thing is does it SHUT OFF or RESTART - they often have different causes. Not to jump to conclusions but if it's restarting it's quite possibly a memory error (which if taking it out, blowing it out and putting it back in securely doesn't fix you'd be looking at needing new RAM - but let's not jump to conclusions.) When it starts up, make sure it does a full POST and says "blah blah mem OK" when it starts up. Kiriyama
Only games I play are, AQ, DF, Tribal Wars, RuneScape and small games. Out of em all RuneScape is the most Graphic Intensive. HArddrive is not long put in, its a 20gig one with most of the memory remaining so I'd be cheesed off if it had a problem. When refering to hard drive space, call it storage or simply hard drive space :P . He is referring to memory, or ram (random access memory) that is usually 512mb - 2gbs in size. You need to give us more information before we can give more detailed suggestions. To see if it's an overheating problem, download Speedfan. It will give you the temperatures of everything in your computer. Write them down (or screenshot) of them while playing Runescape for a little while. Also tell us your system specs. Kosz
That happened to my old computer. Its happing to it again but the thing you need to do is call the guy that fixes your computer and ask him if he can clean it like monitor inside. If it has dust it wont let the fans work so it wont be able to keep it cool or you can just buy the thing to clean it its called 'Perfect Duster' in the US that is. It probably is that but if its not just call your computer guy to come see your computer.
