Anyway to acquire Chaos Rune in large quantities in F2P?

(1) No wilderness please as i already know there are respawns in Black Knight Castle & Moss Giant @ lvl37 wildy :!:

(2) Please I am a noob so don't expect me killing moster with combat >50

(3) Don't ask me to join members, buy them or flood this article with junks. I think that other f2p also have this major problem

Thanks in advance

Well you really limited your options to being extremely low.

All I can recommend is killing wizards? You'll get chaos runes, as well as other ones. Other then that there isn't a whole lot you can do unfortunately.

You could buy them from members, or other free players? :anxious:

Anyway to acquire Chaos Rune in large quantities in F2P?...

Well, it sounds like you already know the basic methods.

You could try the dark wizzies south of Varrock (wear ranger gear, not metal armor)

or the blue wizzies in their tower.

But, why do you want Chaos runes?

They do hit harder than mind rune based spells and you can do Crumble undead with them.

But, as you found out, they are hard to come by in F2P.

If "fast" or "cheap" magic exp is what you want then consider this:

Best Mind rune spell, Firestrike averages 18 exp per cast

Best Body rune spell, Curse, always gives 29 exp per cast

Chaos based Fire bolt averages 34 exp per cast

Chaos based Crumble Undead averages 39 exp per cast

So, in F2P, the most cost effective spell to use is a failed Curse.

Plus, F2P players can make all of the runes needed for Curse

but not for Chaos.

Hope this helps

thanks for this pretty idea. at least now i know that curse is similiar to bolts in terms of experience but they are easier to cast and acquire. Just randomly pick some monsters and curse them, then kill them, say Cows or chickens or whatever

Why I hate black knight castle because PKers always trys to launch a ambush there

I went to the area where moss giants lives seems to be quiet places where nobody goes, but occasionly, a high lvl player pops up as they try to avoid other pkers near lava maze/red dragon isle. Knowing that the runes cost 120ea and I probably got a lot of them as nobody else disturbs me, they just ... pked me. Their high level and the high lvl wildy rendered any teleported fruitless (i lost 72 runes with a set of Varrock teleport several hours ago <.< )

Bolt spells can be auto-cast but Curse can't be.

Plus, Curse doesn't give any HP exp.

But it does give cheap magic exp.

Just randomly pick some monsters and curse them, then kill them,

Well, the standard way to do Curse is to use only failed Cursing

and just keep re-cursing the same monster.

Remember, the idea is to level magic cheaply.

So you really don't need to kill the monster.

...Knowing that the runes cost 120ea...

I assume that you know that Cosmic and Nature runes also spawn in the wildy.

... they just ... pked me...

Yeah, I'll never understand why Jagex thought that wildy PKing

would be appealing to all Runescape players... :?

Hope this helps

Well, spawns are not valid. They are by far not fast enough.

that is out..

Player buying, big auch. 140ea at the moment? Your best bet, but still auch.

that is out/in.

Shop buying, little auch. Big auch after all the auto buyers and other people buying them there. Your best bet, try Port Sarim.

Monster killing, wizards seem to occasionaly drop chaos runes. As well as tons of other runes. Great spot is just north of the mind altar. (north of falador). It is level 1-5 wilderness, no pkers around there. Lots of agresive wizards. Put on some D hide. Your best option.

Just looked at the Wilderness map, the chaos spawns / moss giants are just outside the multicombat zone, so monster protection can be used when you see a suspicious white dot (engage a moss giant in combat, so the player cannot attack, while turning the view so you can assess the combat type). Compared to wilderness mining, at least you can carry a pile of good food, without impairing the amount you can collect.

Another wilderness option, doing chaos dwarves for muddy keys (and they also drop runes).

One thing worth a try though, keep a watch on the Port sarim rune store, report the level 3 rune buying autos, and stand to attention if they get a "take away" random. There is one highwayman that can be lured there, the one that tends to walk a lot in the are south of the road, and if the auto loses (or has not yet got) non-aggressive time on the highwaymen, you could rake in a lot of runes or cash if the highwayman kills the bot.

Keep harassing them, one day you'll get one, and the reward can be big, plus the botmaster loses a chunk of resources.

thanks

I'm now training ranged using wizards. They are weak, yet they drop some chaos :)

Really, the amount of them can be neglected when compared to picking in front of moss giants. Anyway, if i need them, i will buy them/pick in wildy. I better stick to strikes for a f2p as they can be crafted, and only bring some chaos/deaths for pking

Anyway, thanks for all you guys answers. This post can be safety deleted as my problem is resolved
