June 2, 200719 yr Well, hi. New to Tip.it forums. And 5-days new to membership on Runescape. Well, I'm newly member'd on Runescape, got 29 days left (even though I started 5 or 4 days ago! Lucky me!) and I've been fletching. My friend said it made money. But only on Yew Longbows. Only recently I found out I need to string them to make money (gasp!). But I've been seeing the behemoth dragon axe being slashed at trees. I asked the price, and got the response of a whopping 2.5 mil. Kinds silly compared to the 15k I paid for my rune axe. Is it worth it, paying 2.5 mil for that axe? And also, why do people buy yew longbows? I'm just curious. High alching can't make that much money off them. 300 per nature rune, and about 500 per longbow? Can't be too profitable!
June 2, 200719 yr It depends on your wcing lvl. If you have 75+ and are looking to cut higher-lvl trees such as yews or magic, yes, buy it. For willows and stuff, I'd say stick with rune. The dragon axe gives a 2.5% increase in speed (I think). And remember, if it turns out you don't want it, just sell it back for the same price. And the last time I checked, they were worth only 2.3 mil. (heh, I say only....) Welcome to the TIF! perfect grammar is one thing, typing like a drugged monkey and enjoying it is anotherAMEN!
June 2, 200719 yr I'm just curious. High alching can't make that much money off them. 300 per nature rune, and about 500 per longbow? Can't be too profitable! It's very good magic XP. And most people make at least one part of the cycle. Like they buy unstrung bows and nats, or I run nats and buy supplies. the way you said it would be a 12 gp loss :/
June 3, 200719 yr I've never used one but I would like it to look rich. And about alching, the way I see people do it is cut magic and but bowstring and nats. Slow but very high profit from it.
June 3, 200719 yr The dragon axe is more expensive than rune for 2 reasons: You have to DK to get it It's better and it's dragon (uh duh?) If are 75+ woodcutting and going to chop down Magic and Yew trees buy it, and sell the logs to get the money back If you are going to fletch then: 1- Cut 1k yews and sell 300ea for 300k 2- Cut another 1k yews this time buy 1k flax and make them bowstring 3- Get your runecrafting to 44 if you haven't already and start making your own nature runes, or make runs for them 4- Make yew longsbows and use high alchemy 5- Repeat until you get bored, then keep the axe or sell it
June 3, 200719 yr The only way i'd ever buy one(just because in 3 weeks they've dropped something like 600k)is if I was DKing and I found one myself, i'd keep the first one and sell the rest.
June 3, 200719 yr if you are going to cut large sums of yews/magics then its worth it but if you are not going to cut more tan 1-2k then dont bother and by the way its 5% faster not 2.5% faster support new ghostly stuff here.I see RuneScape slowly turning into a sadistic version of WoW..signature your as this use backwards this read to enough smart were you If
June 3, 200719 yr if your planing on cutting large amounts of yew/mage logs you shuld buy it. You can sell it again when ur done using it. But watch out AXE HEAD CAN STILL FALL OF, so dont watch tv or something while wcing. If your bored use rune axe, than you can do whatever you want And btw ppl buy yew longs because they high alch it. They alch for about 750gp, and if you make your own nats you can make some nice profit from them. Price is 550-600ea and it depends on amount Click here for my blog <----MY BLOG
