June 2, 200719 yr My mouse moves on it own, and its like its closing. It keeps moving around and it annoys me. Notice, I'm not controlling it at that time. I scanned my computer with Norton Internet Security, and it didn't find anything. I even set it so there's no traffic to make sure someone's not controlling it. It seems that when I lift my mouse, it stops. Oh, and btw it's a laser mouse. (Logitech LX3 Optical) So, any solutions?
June 2, 200719 yr there could be a few things wrong. its probably just that the mouse is broken, not someone controlling it. does it move smoothly or jerky, and what surface are you using it on? try using it on a white piece of computer paper. if it keeps up, its time to get a new mouse.
June 2, 200719 yr Nomar is most likely correct. If someone compromised your machine, they aren't going to waste time making your mouse twitch. Try out several different surfaces to see if it fixes the problem (paper, flat color mouse pad, ect). If none of those work, it's more than likely bad hardware, which means buying a new mouse.
June 2, 200719 yr If it is a wheel mouse try taking off the ring that keeps the ball in and clean out the inside. Mine used to do the same thing until I cleaned it and now it works fine. sig by me avatar by: born2dieMy Website -> Coldvenom.CO.NR <- My Website
June 2, 200719 yr If it is a wheel mouse... You may want to reread the thread. He specifically says it's a laser mouse and even lists the model... :wall:
June 3, 200719 yr Deffinitly try a different surface, a glossy surface would make a mouse jump around a lot. Try a foam mousepad or, like others said, a white piece of paper. if all else fails its broken.
