Best House layout. (construction level 48)

One day, I looked at my house and realized something. All the rooms are in a big clump on the first floor and aren't focused at all. So I've decided that as soon as I finish mastering the god spells I'll blow as much as I need to on remaking it.

 

 

 

The problem is I don't know how I should go about doing this. I'd like the rooms to be spread out evenly amongst the three floors and I'd like to have certain rooms grouped together, like having the dining room next to the kitchen for example.

 

 

 

I'd prefer to have all combat and/or minigame esque things in the basement. Things like the workshop and kitchen (aka skill rooms) I'd like to have on the first floor. Actually, pretty much anything that friends might care about should be on the first floor. Anything not skill or combat/minigame related should go upstairs, such as bedrooms, studies, costume rooms etc.. I'd like a Trophy room there to but I'll need it's stairs on the first floor. I should mention that I don't want any duplicate rooms.

 

 

 

Anyways, if someone could add up all the materials I'd need to make the best stuff in each room (Con lv 48 atm) that'd be great. Of course that's kind of lazy on my part I guess.

 

 

 

I haven't done much construction recently so I may be a little rusty with what does what. What are the rooms with stairs in them again? Maybe if there's more than the two I remember I could use one on the first floor and put the quest/trophy room upstairs. If there was some sort of magical link that had pictures of various house setups that'd be, how do you say, Uber. Or something.

Most important question: Is there a site that you can make a house setup on before you build it so that you can see how it looks? If so, what is this site? That's two, sorry.

Nah, put the minigame stuff in the basement. Put the stuff YOU will use on the first floor.

 

 

 

It would be really annoying to have to go upstairs to use your portals, alter, or mounted glory. I also reccomend that you keep your workshop on the first floor for future leveling.

 

 

 

Think about what you use most, and put that near your portal.

Well see, chances are if it's convenient for my friends, it's convenient for me. ::' However I don't plan on doing any hardcore training in my house, I just want it to look cool. One thing that might be interesting is having my combat ring next to my altar and dining room, which would in turn be next to my kitchen. That way it'd be kinda like valhalla, where norse warriors fight all day and feast all night. :wink: I was just hoping for some cool ideas kinda like that to make my house look cool, not necessarily functional. And like I said in the first post, I'm reeeally hoping there's some fansite that lets you put your house together before you build it. Doesn't have to be particularly realistic. For any suggestions, please keep in mind that unless the idea's really cool I'd prefer to keep the number of rooms between the floors as balanced as possible. In the name of Guthix! Maybe. Whatever. :-w

like they said,... accesible altars, glory and teleports are what u want.

 

My (final) house setup is like this:

 

 

 

----0----

 

1 - 2 - 3

 

4 - 5 - 6

 

7 - 8 - 9

 

 

 

0 = workshop

 

1 = dining

 

2 = hall (mounted glory)

 

3 = kitchen (bad choice, u'll find larder if u wanna click glory)

 

4 = teleroom 1 (varrock, fally and canifis)

 

5 = house entrance

 

6 = teleroom 2 (ardougne, camelot, yanille)

 

7 = study

 

8 = garden

 

9 = altar

 

 

 

on the first floor are the bedrooms and a costume room.

 

Main thing is that my 3 telerooms (incl q hall) are centrered around the entrance.

 

 

 

Anyway, it's just one of many possible setups :P

Thanks for the link Rob. Nice avatar to, by the way. They changed his lines in the remake, the FFVI fans of today will never know the greatness of the "son of a submariner" line among others. :cry: Thank you to Dasher, for posting your setup. 8-)
