RuneScape Information

  1. So get this, my computer's been broken for months and I haven't been able to get online til recently, so I was reading all the articles I missed when I found one terribly insulting error that, God willing, someone has already pointed out. THE LEAF DOES NOT GIVE YOU A CAPE!!! IT MAKES YOU SPROUT A RACCOON TAIL AND FLY!! :wall: Some people these days, I swear. :shame:
  2. Someone said that people who agree with both letters are wrong. I honestly don't see why, but then again, insanity does run in my family. :-k One letter pointed out that Jagex is made of individual people just like us-- this reasoning is great, but it's why I feel so sad when things like certain videogames or books flop. Great letter though. The other letter argued Prankster King's article about immaturity. I completely agree with this letter as well. Knowing that there are people like the authors of these letters playing the game gives me a warm fuzzy feeling. Up until a few days ago I was convinced that no one was happy unless they were unhappy about something. These letters, along with a few choice threads on the official forums have changed my mind.
  3. Words cannot express how much I agree with your (Author's) general hatred of immaturity, but I have to say, I disagree with a large portion of your article. Someone who has such a pessimistic view clearly looks for the bad things in everything. I don't remember reading one positive thing in that whole article. While I'm a relatively new player of a year and half's experience, even I know that this game was always a clickfest. There's almost nothing in this game that requires real skill, so I find it strange that you glorify RSC when it's simply more clickhappy than the current version. Things such as cook/smith/make all options don't require any less skill than making each item individually. Apparently I'm in the minority as one of the supposed few non preteens who found out about this game through Miniclips. The thing is, last time I checked Miniclips's claim to fame was being a site for free games, not necessarily kiddy games, or has the definiton of free changed? Of course the only game I've ever played from that site was this one, so I might not be the authority on that. Surely I know as much about it as someone who quit knows about the current community though. I also dislike how the title is phrased as a question. Questions have more than one possible answer or they wouldn't be questions, and yet your article suggests that there can be no question about it (immaturity). If you're going to present a one sided argument you shouldn't make your title a question. :shame: You have just read an opinion by Specterzero1. Feel free to have your own. I'll brutally dissect those to. J/K 8-)
  4. I wonder about people who can't sympathize with losing items. Did they really earn their own items themselves? :-k This is similar to another issue, but it's still just as true.

  6. I'm glad to hear you respect my opinion Moonshadow! =D> I'll also admit that F2P is way less of a demo than anything else I've ever seen. I've always thought of it as proof that Jagex isn't just a bunch of greedy jerkwads... they're all that and more! Just kidding Jagex.O:)
  7. Moonshadow you have offended me. Was that your goal in the one post where you called anyone who thought F2P was a demo a moron? I gave very valid reasons why it is a demo. It's not fair to expect everyone who disagrees with you to sift through a 100 page topic to find the post that you base your argument on. If you want people to see it but don't want to retype it every page put a link to it in your signature. Also I still think F2P is demo because it is. Nothing Jagex says will change that fact. If they say grass is red in their game without actually changing it to red, then dammit it's still green. Until they gain the power to change the laws of physics F2P will always be a demo. If it wasn't a demo then they would let free players play the full version of the game. They don't and therefore it's a demo. No amount of big, red, underlined words will change facts or my opinion on this matter. I'm still neutral on having more bank space for F2P.
  8. WOW. Big topic. I'll just say that I'm neutral. I acknowledge the fact that F2P could use more space (especially with those dumb random costumes that don't do anything but you don't wanna throw away cuz they're so rare.) but the fact is, bank space, like money, will never exist in enough quantities to satisfy everyone. The more you have the more you want/need to have. When I became a member I had so much space that I thought I'd never use it all, but now it's a daily battle to keep half a row open. Because I can save more stuff I do. Most of the stuff is nice to have but not necessary (like the random event stuff). I'd say that if they want more space they should be members but that wouldn't really solve it since they'd just get more stuff to fill the space with. I made myself a new F2P account to use, so It's not like I've forgotten where I come from or anything, but even now if I drop all the unnecessary stuff I have plenty of room for stuff I need to play with. The day F2P truly NEEDS more space is if Jagex makes a new F2P skill. That day most likely won't ever come though. Although I have to say, more space would be nice. Now I'll leave you with this neutral face to express my neutralness. :| Oh I just thought of a better idea than more bank space. Since Random Event items use so much space Jagex should make it so that they're reclaimable from Diango or something (maybe the lumbridge guide since Diango has his hands full with holiday stuff). That would help both F2P and P2P equally, and would help stem the inevitable rants about F2P getting an update when they don't pay (you know they exist). It would apparently add 19 more spaces to the banks of both player types without actually doing so. SOMEWHAT UNRELATED ISSUE: The topic creator says that not everyone can pay $5.00 a month to play. Well I say if you can't you better be real happy that your F2P accounts never run out of time like most demos do. Yes it's a demo. It's designed to make you want to be a member and therefore is a demo no matter what some people may think, or how big of an effect it has on the economy. EDIT: I should say that neither of my accounts are player killers or skillers, however if you choose to be one of those in F2P of all things knowing about its limited space then you'll just have to deal with the consequences of your decision. Maybe that's unfair but that's just how the cookie crumbles.
  9. Thanks for the link Rob. Nice avatar to, by the way. They changed his lines in the remake, the FFVI fans of today will never know the greatness of the "son of a submariner" line among others. Thank you to Dasher, for posting your setup. 8-)
  10. I thought I had read something about Runehq having one. Didn't find it when I went to look though. Now that I know it exists I'll look harder. Thanks. =D>
  11. Well see, chances are if it's convenient for my friends, it's convenient for me. : However I don't plan on doing any hardcore training in my house, I just want it to look cool. One thing that might be interesting is having my combat ring next to my altar and dining room, which would in turn be next to my kitchen. That way it'd be kinda like valhalla, where norse warriors fight all day and feast all night. I was just hoping for some cool ideas kinda like that to make my house look cool, not necessarily functional. And like I said in the first post, I'm reeeally hoping there's some fansite that lets you put your house together before you build it. Doesn't have to be particularly realistic. For any suggestions, please keep in mind that unless the idea's really cool I'd prefer to keep the number of rooms between the floors as balanced as possible. In the name of Guthix! Maybe. Whatever. :-w
  12. Since oomlie wraps are tradeable, people who haven't done legends can get one from someone who has. You don't necessarily need to make one yourself
  13. One day, I looked at my house and realized something. All the rooms are in a big clump on the first floor and aren't focused at all. So I've decided that as soon as I finish mastering the god spells I'll blow as much as I need to on remaking it. The problem is I don't know how I should go about doing this. I'd like the rooms to be spread out evenly amongst the three floors and I'd like to have certain rooms grouped together, like having the dining room next to the kitchen for example. I'd prefer to have all combat and/or minigame esque things in the basement. Things like the workshop and kitchen (aka skill rooms) I'd like to have on the first floor. Actually, pretty much anything that friends might care about should be on the first floor. Anything not skill or combat/minigame related should go upstairs, such as bedrooms, studies, costume rooms etc.. I'd like a Trophy room there to but I'll need it's stairs on the first floor. I should mention that I don't want any duplicate rooms. Anyways, if someone could add up all the materials I'd need to make the best stuff in each room (Con lv 48 atm) that'd be great. Of course that's kind of lazy on my part I guess. I haven't done much construction recently so I may be a little rusty with what does what. What are the rooms with stairs in them again? Maybe if there's more than the two I remember I could use one on the first floor and put the quest/trophy room upstairs. If there was some sort of magical link that had pictures of various house setups that'd be, how do you say, Uber. Or something. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Any help would be much appreciated. I would've asked on the game forums, but I'd really like that magical link I mentioned, and Jagex hates links for some reason. Most important question: Is there a site that you can make a house setup on before you build it so that you can see how it looks? If so, what is this site? That's two, sorry.
  14. Thanks for reading my last post people. (Evil_Pig20, Adventurer86, Snoopy flipz) You're some of the few people who actually know why I choose to use a mace of my own free will. Something else I thought of that happened before that post though: Getting my first chefs hat. I was ecstatic. Seriously. I mean, I had just gotten this awesome black cape to go with my shiny bronze square shield and this hat was the icing on the cake... Yep, life was lookin pretty good. 8-)
  15. Long ago when dinosaurs roamed the earth... actually last year, I was walking along south of draynor when I found a pile of junk apparently dropped by one of the black knights victims. In that pile of junk I found a Mithril Longsword. It was a sign from above obviously. And so from that day on I used nothing but longswords. When I became a member I picked flax and sold bow strings until I could buy a Dragon longsword. Woe was I when I found out I needed to do Lost City to use it, however I persevered. Many were the days I pwned with that thing. Many were the questions of why I used only longswords. Then one day my closest friend, who I had known since F2p and had done Shield of Arrav with, gave me a Dragon Mace for my birthday. That was one of the few times I ever took free stuff from anyone and only then because I respected him. A few weeks later he talked of quitting RS to play another game. I was sad beyond words. I tried to talk him out of it but he would not be swayed. When he offered to give me his whip and barrows armor as well as his considerable fortune I refused, telling him that one day he would play again and would want it. Months passed. One day I saw him log on and was overjoyed. But all he had to say was how great his new game was and how inferior Runescape was in comparison. He tried to convince me to play it but I refused. He continued to insult this fine game that I had come to enjoy so much and I grew impatient with him. We parted that day on less than friendly terms. These days, if you see me, I'll almost always have in my right hand a Dragon mace. I use it to remember the friend I once had and hope one day he will return so that I might apologize to him for my harsh words. Many will the days be that I pwn with this thing. Many will the questions be of why I use only a Dragon Mace. ^ That story is 100% true. My item I treasured most as a newb was any type of longsword especially mithril. The one I treasure now is my beloved Dragon Mace along with my prayer armor.
