Graphics Cards

Alright, I'll tell you right now, my graphics card stinks, and that's why I'm getting a new and better one in the near future.

I'll want one that will be good for games such as Guild Wars and World of Warcraft. If you could suggest some good cards under $200, that would be greatly appreciated.

THANKS!

Well if it's a prebuilt you can Google the model number and find the specs which should include the power supply.

If not, you can open you computer case and there should be a label on the power supply (power supply usually located in the top left of a computer case).

I'll have to check out my power supply tommarow. My computer is wedged back inbetween the desk and a wall, so getting to it is a bit of a hassle.

Reason for Edit: Typo

Off the top of my head I would recommend a X1950Pro (here).

Or the 8600GT, as its more future proof, but doesn't perform as well on DX9 (What all of the current games) link here.

Note they both cost ~$130 after rebates.

Which leaves you with $70 to spend on a PSU if you need it or some more ram.

  • Dragon Axe x11
    Berserker Ring x9
    Warrior Ring x8
    Seercull
    Dragon Med
Dragon Boots x4 - all less then 30 kc
    Godsword Shard (bandos)
    Granite Maul x 3

Solo only - doesn't include barrows[/hide][hide=Stats]

Both are good cards for the value, one from each fanclub. :P

This card isn't too bad either. It's a lower model than one of the ones listed above, and you save about 20 bucks. It's still a fairly decent card, and still a great deal for the money.

I'm looking for a top of the line graphics card doesn't matter what it need because I'm going to upgrade my computer anyway i wanna keep it under $300aud though

The only Canadian site for part I know is tiger direct.

Heres the best $300 sub card I can find. Its more powerful then the two other card I recommended. The only thing is that its a DX9 card. If you plan on using vista and playing the DX10 (still far off) I would get this its not as powerful as the other card, but will be more suited to future games and vista, plus its a faction of the price.

Only problem is I don't think the OP has a PCI-E slot open as his current card is an AGP. Those wouldn't work with what he has.

blade is correct. the 1950 is faster but neither are "future proof" as they are both dx9 cards, so if you are going to get a new computer sometime in the next year, these will be fine.
