Arambul
Burth it. They will almost never drop anything good, and it's just a plain waste of time and supplies. Trust me on that.
curmudgeony
On a related note, I got bronze, 'thoped it. Went back, got bronze again. Tried to 'thorp it, master wouldn't let me switch. So it looks like I gotta fight me some dragons. Thanks for the tips.
meol
You should always be able to Burthorpe a task if it is something Duradel doesn't asign himself (for example bronze drags), so it's quite weird you can't change it. mello757
I learned how to fight the metal dragons on bronze. Ive only killed maybe 100 (bronze) in the the time I've played and gotten 2 dragon skirts from them. More importantly they taught me how to fight the metal dragons. Now I love to get irons for slayer. Overall I've gotten 3 Dragon skirts, 3 Dragon platelegs, and a Shield left half from them. That's about 9 mil worth in items not including the bloods you get as well as the rune items. MORE THAN PAID FOR ANY MATERIALS I HAVE EVER NEEDED. That is if I bought them. Farm your herbs and make your own prayer pots. If you have low herbalore have a high lvl friend id your unids and have them make antifires out of your lants. I prefer to fight them using prayer/melee method. I take a dds and a whip. You can substitute a D long instead of the whip. Tag them with the dds til poisoned and switch over to whip/dlong. Keep an eye on your prayer and drink when you can drink a dose and be UNDER your prayer max. I know of lots of people who waste doses by drinking too soon. I take a super att, super str, and an anti-firebreath. As well as prayer pots. Say 4 prayer pots, 5 if you dont have the holy wrench. At first you can double these amounts to be "safe" but you'll find your groove after a couple times. Take a drink of each att, str, antifire. After the antifire wears off you'll take a small amount of damage from fire breath. Drink one of each again when this happens. Misc items to take... Runes for high alching drops to make room for d bones if your saving them for grinding. I make a habit of picking up steel axes from various monster drops. I call them chop and drops. Take one with you to get to the metals and then drop it for room. If your new and nervous take a one click tele. ectovial, elf crystal, enchanted lyre, tele tablet. Note. If you run around too much they will stay agressive to you. Pick one and stick with it and dont move around. After a few they (bronze, dogs, and black demons) wont be agressive. eventually u can lumby home tele safely. Don't try that till you know what yer doing though \ Happy hunting. It's up to the original poster to determine if I left out too much detail. If I did he can ask me for more. In his later post he said he even knew what I was saying. You made your suggestion in this post so don't try and tell him who to listen to. Maybe he HAS the money to burn. Maybe he doesnt have to spend any money at all to fight them. I know I don't because I've got the skills to make my own pots etc. And as far as details go...there are a few posts in the help section giving more detail than you would ever want. justj2
Ara, have you been owned by drags lots? =) lol i always go with the mele method and i make my own prayer pots and farm my own herbs so im pretty self...... whats the word... ill try to think of it later lol i use rune pl8 and legs, anti d shield, beresker helm and climbing boots as armour (glory or str ammy are recomended too) and gloves.... well take your pick lol i always take DDS or DSS (d spear++) which ever i have at the time and d long or whip, again. which ever i have at the time. Remember your teleport runes! i take about 5 FULL (4) anti fire pots and 6+ FULL (4) prayer potions and the rest food (axe and money to get there of course) make sure the food you use is good, sharks are defo recomendo because ive nearly died a few times because ive slipped and messed up with prayer, been hit with things like 49's lol and if your not confident to fight them, fight greens first, then blues, then bronze, metal dragons just take longer to kill remember: ALWAYS have protect from mele on ALWAYS have your anti fire shield on ALWAYS be on a world with the least lagg possible ALWAYS be at your computer while fighting them or being near them, log off if your going away. even if just for a min or so sharks are proberly the best food to use for dragon fighting, though tuna potatoe will do (heals more... and are cheaper) poison them FIRST, this will help greatly while fighting them if you start to get noticeable lag CHANGE WORLD, this will near garuntee to save your life if you accidently walk into the iron dragons, dont panic. protect from mele ON and walk out (or run) ill edit this if i see ive missed anything, but hope this helps anyone who wants to mele dragons =) PS, you have your anti fire pots, use your brain and use them :P once you've been a few times you'l get the hang of it all =) J MMORPG - Many Men Online Role Playing Girls - LOL, but how true?Oh and none of the people you see online saying "looking for bf" are girls. Statistics I make up don't lie. - HA!Retired - 19:37 - 25th feb 2007Officially back - 19:19 - 16th april 2007Ive quit enough times to quit again and be garunteed im guna be bribed back, totally worth it ;) until next month anyway

Wearing say monks robes, initiate, or proselyte will give you a higher prayer bonus. Higher prayer bonus = longer prayer will last. Less prayer pots to buy/take. aglips
At your combat level, it would be a waste of time and pots to continue with the bronze or any metal drag slayer task you get. The buthorpe slayer master will always change your task as long as the monsters he assigns have a lower level than the currently assigned monsters. The best armor/wep to use if meleeing is: proselyte top and legs black slayer mask blessed holy symbol antifire shield berserker ring whip barrows gloves If I remember correctly, this gives 25 prayer bonus
