June 6, 200719 yr Ok so i am getting ready to change from f2p to p2p to ultimately have some fun at barrows. I have read into it and found out the best way to do well at my combat level is to have 55 slayer. So first of all I will do the required quests that give slayer xp and are required to get the barrows. Hopefully training both slayer and combat at the same time will make me a bit stronger to do well at barrows. My question is this. What would be the best type of p2p armour and weapons to train combat/slayer? Full dragon + whip? Barrows armour/weapons? Your thoughts? Ruff ryder73
June 6, 200719 yr Honestly I think that full dragon with whip, you could replace whip with d scimmy or long if you wanted to train str. I think that full dragon would be best considering that it won't degrade, therefore, you won't have to spend money reparing it.
June 6, 200719 yr i didn't like the cost of dragon armor, so I go in my rune =) with a decent defense and prayer level, I can manage fine using only 5 monkfish/lobsters and no ppots per trip (unless its Karil tunnel) I've never seen Sixth Sense nor Inception nor many other popular movies and I intend to keep it that way.
June 6, 200719 yr Author Ok so i'm probably going to go with full dragon + whip/dragon scimmy. I'd also like to know what cape, ammy, boots, etc. do i need?
June 6, 200719 yr Well, the money you spend on dragon armor could be spent on a lot more supplies and such for Barrows - the potions, runes, food, and such. Rune works perfect for training, but if you've got the cash to spend, then you could get dragon. Get a berserker helm, though, it look cooler, and has pretty nice dfense and a strength bonus to boot. Or you could get a set of Guthan, which is great for slayer since you almost never need food. Need 70 defense though. As for the other wielded items, a whip for training attack/defense, or a dragon scimitar for strength. A rune defender, or obsidian shield works. Wear a fury (if you want to go all out), but a glory works fine. Rune boots, for defense and strength bonus. An obsidian cape or Legend's cape is good. Sig credit goes to ThruItAll. :D
June 6, 200719 yr if i where you i would forget the dragon plan :notalk: full rune or torags works fine and you need to fix the torags like one time in a month and i think it got the same deff bonus as dragon :-k you would have alot money left for p-pots,food runes etc  full dragon is just to show that you are rich -.- (I wana live for ever,or die trying...)I have dyslexia so forgive me my bad grammar
June 6, 200719 yr omfg... full dragon is horrible... i hate how so many people think that dragon is best... it's not at all! barrows armor is by far, and i mean BY FAR, the best armor there is. full torags with a d sq gives u over 300 def bonus. full dragon barely hits the 200 mark, sheesh. I HATE HOW PEOPLE THINK FULL DRAGON IS GOOD!!!!!!!! ahhh!
June 7, 200719 yr I never said that Dragon was the best armor in the game, I'm just saying that it's better for long term training imo. You don't have to waste money fixing it whenever it decays.

June 7, 200719 yr there is nothing stopping you doing barrows right away, do the quests that allow you to do barrows, do a few runs wearing full rune and using fire blast or best spell praying and see what you think. if you really like it and think you wanna be a long term barrower, then work on 55 slayer. For skills, the immediate increases should be in defence to 70 so you can wear barrows, for this I suggest trying pest control since you are new, you can get these levels in a few hours I would think plus make a bit of cash. Other than that the more prayer you have the better, especially for barrows and members makes prayer much easier to level.
June 7, 200719 yr Ok so: Full Torags Whip/d scimmy D Square Fury Obby cape Rune boots Sound's like this is the best setup from your comments? Anyone else help me out? That combination is the nest armor you can get in Runescape. But, I suggest getting Helm of Neitiznot instead of Torag's Helm. This will save you some repair money and also give you prayer and strength bonus at the cost of some armor.
