June 21, 200719 yr (warning: the following guide is only meant for people who wish to earn the stats to get barrows armor. Viewer discretion is advised.) I was looking through the tip.it guide section, and didn't really see any guides that involved getting your attack/defence/strength up to being able to use barrows. So out of a bored mind, I decided to make my own. This is a f2p guide, however it'll also work for new members who want to get up their combat. Minimum Requirements: -preferably a low combat lvl, though people with around medium combat can do this as well if they have the fishing/cooking lvls to match -decent armor/weopen -*a willingness to do quests* *(though quests will help for getting xp, it doesn't mean that you need to do them. Rune might be the "best f2p armor", addy still works about the same, with over 140k less of a cost.)* The beginning (combat lvls 3-13) For this part, all you will really need is a bronze/iron weopen. Armor is optional, but you don't really need it. Just go to varrock and train your attack on the dummies. Once you can gain no more xp, just go to any chicken coop and kill chickens. Dont forget to pick up the feathers, you'll need them all for later. Once you have atk/def/str all at 10, go to al kharid for the next part of the training "tour". Moderate Combat (combat lvls 13-30) For this next part, armor is reccomended. I suggest using steel, however other types will still work. Also, you will need a fishing net to catch food. Without a fishing net, you will have a hard time during all steps after this. Fish up shrimp to the south of al kharid, and cook them on the range to the north of the bank. Use this food to train on the al kharid warriors inside the "castle", and repeat when you run out of food. Try to keep doing this till you have atk/def/str to 30. When your finished, your fishing/cooking should also be above 30. Also, if you have membership, this is a really good way to get herbs for herblore. *Quest Beating (combat lvls 30-72)* This next part is only for the people who wanted to do the f2p quests. If you wanted to just go for barrows without doing quests, then go to the next part. For all those who wanted to do the f2p quests, you will need at least addy armor and possibly some gp (5-6k depending). Go to lumbridge and start the quests in there. After you start the quests, go around in a circle by going to varrock, then fally, then rimmington/ draynor, and back. This circle will save a ton of time, and will also allow you to get multiple quests done at a time. Once you have done all of these except dragon slayer, follow the tip.it guide on the front page to do dragon slayer. You should have around 40-50 combat from this. If your atk/def/str are all unbalanced from these quests, try to "even them off" to make it easier to train later. If you don't get 50 combat from this, just train on the flesh crawlers in the stronghold of security till you do. The feathers you got earlier will help! Once you get 50 combat, go to the moss giants on crandor and train till you have 72 combat. it will take a while, but will be worth it. If you decided to do this part, skip the next part. Stronghold Training (combat lvls 30-72) This next part is pretty simple, and will offer pretty good xp. Just use the feathers you have and fly fish. Then cook the fish and use them to train on the minotaurs/zombies in the stronghold. If you run out of feathers, either buy more or kill chickens for them. Roughly 5k of feathers will last throughout this entire thing. Once you have 72 combat, it's on to the easy and final step. Red Spiders (combat lvl72-86) For this final step, you will need your armor and the same stuff as the previous step. Fly fish salmon/trout, and use them to train on the red spiders in the stronghold. These offer really quick and easy xp (roughly 50k of xp per hour if your lucky). Train atk/str/def all to 70, and your done.
August 13, 200718 yr Not bad... 6/10, It looks like a barrows guide from the title (as in a guide to do barrows). "300 programmers make their futile but glorious last stand against 1000000 angry players in The battle of Misthalin. They fight for honor, glory and new content sacrificing themselves so that their game may live on. This is Madness! This Is JAGEEEX!"
August 13, 200718 yr you dont even mention that prayer is needed, let alone what lvl you would need.. you should put a section with the stats to aim for. just saying aim for X combat is far too vague. Also change the title, it's misleading.
August 14, 200718 yr I'll do you one better and make a guide just a bit.. better. Retired Tip.It Mod || Admin and Founder of Caesar 3 Mod Squad! All are welcome!
