i would like to start off with afew simple 5 frame animations..

the prob is.. how?

i know how to draw(imo) and need a technique which will allow me to trace the same lines on a new paper, so i can change afew lines and scan and have an animation.

but the prob is, paper is white. very hard to see through.

so i took afew see through sheets, paper size

took my sketch and did it with a black pen on the see through. prob is, i cant scan black on a see through paper. it wont show anything.

so i need a new idea, help plz? :?

i wanna create my first anime allready :(

You need a lightbox. Just get a simple light and rig it to a box with a clear plastic top on it. Voila, home made light box. I suggest setting up a digital camera with a tripod and taking pictures of your images. Scans can vary depending on where you place them, and it's just too much trouble. The tripod will ensure that the images are all aligned right, assuming you set them up right when you are prepared to snap them... Hand drawn animation is really fun, I remember doing alot of them last year, along with some fun stop motion lego rigs we did...

tracing paper?

is it expensive?

not really :?

Or you could go to a window and trace it there.... ;)

weee thats what i do :D

doesent that takes ages?

hhm, so u put the paper on the window, does it matter if its night or day?

anywayz, u stick it on the window, trace with a pencil and do ur animation. am i right?

one question. does it take longer to draw on something thats stuck to a window then drawing on a normal table? if it doesent then i guess i can start :D

It's about the same, but if the picture had alot of detail, I suggest securing it to the window with tape or bluetack or something otherwise your arm will get really sore holding it up and drawing XD

Wacom tablets are still hella expensive, but it's worth getting one if you have the money, in my opinion.

Either you can use the window trick, or you can also scan it, and reprint it out but lighter (brighten it in adobe photoshop or something) and then trace over, adding the details, then scan it in again so the really light printed lines can't be seen. ^^
