ok well i was talking to someone and they told me that he got 10m out of a glitch and you can only do it once an ip. He asked me for my email so i gave it to him and he told me that i will be recieving an email from [email protected] soon and open it and follow instructions and i dont have to tell any1 my password. so i got the email from the same email he told me [email protected] but i dindt open it yet .. is this a scam with a keylogger??/ or for real?

it will most lieky to have a keylogger never trust things like that plus dont open email just get rid of it

It's a scam please don't reply, report the kid and delete the email.

There's always somebody somewhere that's trying to scam/con you and make a quick buck, in-game and in real life.

 

 

 

The Scam works on the basis that every average human being is greedy and lazy. Some people are greedier and lazier than others to some degree and they are the people who get scammed more often. When you're offered something for free or something of incredibly great worth, that's working on your greed. When you're offered a small task to reap in great rewards, that's working on your laziness.

 

 

 

The "Nigerian Bank Scam" is a classic example.

 

The Scam: You recieve an email that roughly states that a Nigerian man/woman has just come upon a huge sum of money from their wealthy, elderly relative that recently passed away. They want to invest some of this money in North American businesses but is having trouble moving the money out of Nigeria and into North America.

 

 

 

The Hook: They want your help to transfer this money to America by offering you 10% of the money that you help transfer. The more money you help transfer, the more money you'll make. Of course, the "offer" is an incredible amount of money and even 10% of it is a large sum on its own. The "offer" varies from $1 million to $10 million.

 

 

 

The Catch: The only way the Nigerian man/woman can transfer money to you to hold is if you give them your banking information so that they can make a direct money transfer.

 

 

 

Unfortunately, once somebody has your banking information, not only can they make deposits, they can make withdrawls and the Scammer will withdraw everything! So, the "Nigerian Bank" scam works on the two human qualities of greed and laziness.

 

 

 

When something sounds too good to be true, it's always too good to be true.

yes, its called email spoofing, not very hard :P

jagex will never email you so email is probably keylogged. if there was a glich you shouldn't use it in your advantage, you could get banned.

You really get an email address from a website, but it's easy to make it look like you have that email address if you know what you're doing.

wow my admin classes actually are worth something.. okay for emailing there is a way to put in where the email is from, as in manually type this in, its in the header of the email being sent. If its a cheap/ lazy/ not well managed server it doesnt bother to check the isp sending it against where it is saying its coming from and thus you get an email that says its from someplace its not.

 

 

 

sometime similur can be done with webaddresses but that actually takes a bit more work.
