ok,

 

currently i'm 84 combat with 79 range. im not too bad in the duel arena, beat a lvl 95 who had dharoks and a dds.

 

 

 

so...

 

 

 

im going to be ranging lessers until i run out of arrows. ive estimated i have more than enough arrows currently to get 90 range. i have 60 def. i hate it, im not a rune pure, and im not high enough for barrows, 60 is an awkward level.

 

 

 

if i keep 60 def, ill be 90 range at 86 combat, which would be nice.

 

if i get 70 def for karils and get barrows gloves, ill be 89 combat.

 

 

 

currently the best gear i could wear is full guthix blessed dhide, robin set, and any bow.

 

 

 

is it worth it to get karils and barrows gloves, while going up 3 extra combat levels? or should i stick with 60 def?

I say go for with 70 defence, it will help a lot.

 

 

 

It will:

 

Cause you to get hit less

 

Get you better armour (barrows) which will also help in melee training

 

And 3 cb lvls isnt a lot

 

 

 

Unless you ant to stick with dragon (3rd age if you're rich enough) until you have 70 def from meleeing, then go ahead and get the 10 def lvls. Many people underestimate just how much better those 10 def lvls can be when you get the armour.

I think the three levels won't make that much of a difference really. I assume that you're going to be PKing? People around that level are usually Rune Pures or Ancient PKers, so you'll be facing more or less the same people at 86 or 89.

 

 

 

I'd say go ahead and get your defence even higher and be a tank ranger. Get about 80-90 Defence and PK with that. I believe the set-up would be Black D'hide or Ahrims top/bottom, Torags Helm, MSB, Rune Arrows and whatever other accessories you see fit. As I've seen, they're pretty decent in the wild.

I'm pretty sure any Blesssed D'Hide part requires 70 defence and range to wear.

^no all pieces require 40 def, my friends range pure has it

thanks for the input, see, i hate the fact i didnt stay a bit more pure (i was 50 def for a long time) and am trying to get 99 range at as low a combat as possible. if i get 70 def ill be 95 combat with 99 range...if i keep 60 def ill be around 90 or 91...

 

 

 

im not planning for pking, mostly staking for money and a bit of cwars for fun...if i feel the urge to go lose items in the wild, i take my pure...

For stakes use a rune xbow + unholy book. =P~

 

 

 

Get defense up to 70 not for karils, but for Torag's helm, use that when staking.

 

 

 

Black/blessed d hide > Karils

 

 

 

And yep, it should be worth it.
