Lol first animation made :-P

Featured Replies

Woo just made my first animation...I know it's not a big deal but I was actually struggling to work out Macromedia and what all the buttons meant and stuff...Anyways here it is, plus it's pretty small sized. Just something cute, nothing too special :P

its urr pretty simple and the square looks kinda dodgy when it moves, the edges mess up, oh and why do his feet move? is he supposed to be jigging? if so he should stay still, i give it 3/10 too simple to give a much better rating really sorry = (

Lol fair enough, nah I wanted something simple for my first animation... Also I actually kinda wanted it to jig from side to side whilst it moved it's head...

As for the messy edges, I'll fix them up with AA once I get some colour onto it, just wanted to post initial guy coz I was happy for that much.

Yes very simple, I suppose you made exactly what you intended but its not atall that interesting, if you wanted to make it cute I would have worked on the graphics much more before if you were planning on such a simple movement.

if you want to animate a bit more complicated I think it's important to think of what you want to achieve, if you have made a character what do you want it to do?

If I wanted someone dropping out of a tree for example I'd start with the beggining frame where nothing has happened, and then the last where the character is making contact with the floor. break it down by placing in the middle frame, and so on..

heres a quick sketchy demonstration..

I want this guy to fall from the branch and land on his face =P~ .

the next thing I'd draw where he ends up, in pain..

half way between now, which because I want it to speed up as he falls is slightly below the exact center.

And the quarter way ins, doing the half way between more and more will make it much smoother and increase the amount of frames.

Yes, it is very sketchy but it works as an animation... all you'd need to do next is work on the detail ontop of this plan.

Try simplify it for yourself, it usually becomes much more simple. O:)

You trying to learn macromedia flash did you say? I'd just advise you to just spend a while messing around on it, at first its a battle trying to get it to do what you want it to do but you get used to it. goodluck with your animation dude.

Coolio thanks Terl, yeah I'll start thinking more into storyboards and stuff now I got the basic understanding on how to use it all.

Yeah made a new version kinda, just been trying stuff out... Not really a storyline or anything like anyone wanted, but a little more detail and adding ideas bit by bit, then I'll put them all into one big animation I think.

I like the second one;

Here are my suggestions:

Add more color.

Make him walk around.

Make more than one of 'em.

With all of those, you could be making a small show

Thanks, yeah I'm working on an idea atm to link them together, but heading off tomorrow which seems to happen alot half way through whenever I get into these modes...

Ahh wells I'm having fun with it all, so I doubt I'll stop, but I did just get back from Uni, so best go see everyone that I haven't seen in a while first.

I'll do the colour more at the end as well, just simply so I can work with it better at the end probably, and decide how detailed I want it in my final one anyways :D
