eyehawk78
My internet is very temperamental, my connection will unbeknown to me drop every 5 mins or so. This becomes very annoying when on MSN messenger or IRC. On msn I will not be logged out however I will not receive any messages from my friends, which means most of the time I only get half of the conversation. When on IRC my connection is fine for around 10 minutes then I will stop getting any messages and will later be kicked for "Ping timeout" Anyone have any ideas whats wrong with my connection and anyways I could fix it? darkblade986
This sounds like an issue with your modem, or your internet provider. You'd have to talk to them specifically to get the problem fixed. don't worry, you are going to "hell" anyway. wanna race to see who gets there first?Officially reached 100 Combat at 1:33PM EST, June 14, 2007First Dragon Drop: Dragon Chain (Dust Devils) @ 10:48PM EST, July 14, 2008, lv113 combat

oops1644
Just a few questions: 1. do you use a router or hub to share your internet connection between 2 or more computers or do you have one computer directly connected to the modem? 2. Do you have any firewalls or Anti-virus software? (if you have windows xp or vista than you do have a firewall.) 3. Have you contacted your ISP (internet Service Provider)? 4. Are all of your cables firmly attached to there ports, without any significant damage? (plastic coating cracked, kink in the cable, borken tab on the connector, etc) Never argue with an idiot - it only drags you down to there level, where he then beats you with experience.completed Underground Pass at level 52! eyehawk78
Just a few questions: 1. do you use a router or hub to share your internet connection between 2 or more computers or do you have one computer directly connected to the modem?Yes I use a router to share my connection, although the other computer it is connected to is never used. Should I disconnect the other computer from the router? 2. Do you have any firewalls or Anti-virus software? (if you have windows xp or vista than you do have a firewall.) Yes, I use zone alarm. 3. Have you contacted your ISP (internet Service Provider)? Not yet but I will contact them soon. 4. Are all of your cables firmly attached to there ports, without any significant damage? (plastic coating cracked, kink in the cable, borken tab on the connector, etc) The plastic connection is cracked on port that connects the DSL filter to the phone line. Also the phone phone port that im using is using an extension of the downstairs phone line to provide a phone signal. However if I connect the router to the downstairs phone port (unbroken port) the same problem occurs, so I think I can possibly rule out this being the cause. Your post has made me realise a hell of a lot of things that are probably causing my connection woos! Thank you!!!!! :XD: Website Updates & Corrections | Website Discussion
