Is there a way to use a material on only 1 side and all other sides be a different material? I've tried looking this up in tut. but its hard for me to find anything.

On one side of what? You need to be more specific.

I think he means that, like on a cube for instance, he wants to use a seperate material on each side, instead of one material for the entire object.

I would probaly seperate each side into different objects, kind of like grouping and ungrouping.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

this might not work, the only thing i've ever made (in the C4D demo mind you) is an "ubar sphere"

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Than i couldn't figure out how to render (:oops:) so i just took a screnie of the thing. :shock:

Select just the component you want and apply that material to it... I've never used C4D but I'm sure there is a way you select just that polygon. Once it's selected, apply the material to it, instead of to the whole object.
