ice_ring
Well, about my third space, but i have been looking over some tutorials and learning a few things. Nadril you are i think the best at space scenes on the boards so please take time to comment. All other comments are welcome, and this sig is now for sale in my shop! Tried to make a little busier and a little more chaotic, also move the nebula thingy and added a planet. finally i added a new texture to the original planet. Nadril
hmmm.... I can see you tried some brushing, anyways let me point out some stuff. The whole scene in my opinion is dark. i guess i always picture nebula scenes (or whatever you tried brushing there) as brighter, more intesne scenes. This one is very mundane, and booring. The planet, while not bad, seems a bit basic, almost flat. thats probaly one of the harder things in a space scene to do, and that is get the planet to realy "fit in" with the rest of it. The stars are fine, realy nothing much wrong with them. The brushing you did, or the nebula or whatever, is very out of place. If you want to brush a nebula in, i sugest copy-merging and messing with the hue and color ballance (Ctr+U and Ctr+B) Also, mess with layer styles. The best to use would be soft light, overlay (in extreme conditions), multiply, and screen. Others, such as color burn also may work, again only for realy the "extremes" though. If you see that your stars are dying, just duplicate your star layer, set to screen, and erase over what you don't want them to be on (most noticably, the planet  ) Anyways, keep going at it. For a 3rd its not bad at all :) just keep experimenting, and don't be afraid to look at devart (alyn has some amazing tutorails, some which arn't realy tutorials but just guidelines. (I sugest you read them) Just don't make a sig purly or tutorials than sell it  , always try and add your own flare to it :P So.... after this long post, Good luck with scenes in the futre m8 :)

I will definately look at Alyn's tutorials. btw i didnt make it purely from tutorials, the main thing i used the tutorial for was getting the planet's shadow/lighting right. Keiphus
Also, mess with layer styles. The best to use would be soft light, overlay (in extreme conditions), multiply, and screen. Others, such as color burn also may work, again only for realy the "extremes" though. It's a good thing to know how the layer styles work and how they will affect your image, instead of randomly selecting whichever "looks coolest" at the time. When you get into multiple styles on multiple layers all on top of each other it can get very dynamic. Depending on how the image is and what colors/intensities are used, any style or combination of styles can work. Sorry, it just bothers me when people throw out random layer styles like that. I'm calm now.
