If you search this forum on topics regarding the cooking gauntlets and monkfish it's easy to observe that the cooking gauntlets don't affect monkfish burning rate.

 

 

 

But is this true? In my opinion, it isn't... I'm lvl 91 cooking. Didn't use gaunts at first and burned an occasional monkfish, sometimes two per invent. Which was quite in contrast with my friend who didn't burn a single monkfish on lvl 91 cooking. So I thought wth and decided to try the gauntlets and I haven't burned a single monkfish since.

 

I cooked such amounts that in my opinion it's safe to rule out the factor "luck".

 

 

 

So now my question is... how are your experiences with this?

I've always thought that the guantlets just added an invisible 10 to your cooking level.

 

 

 

Although there is a video of a guy with 99 cooking and the guantlets burning a monk, It's very rare though.

I cooked monks from about 75-80 cooking(not for lvls just for food) with gaunts, and rarely burnt more than 4 per inventory, rarely more than 3 when i was near level 80.

That's significantly less than what I had without the gaunts at that level.

I 'could' go and test out tomorrow as im still only lvl 81 cooking, and wouldn't take me long to get a fair amount of monks.

More ppl with opinions/experience?
