200M in all Skills
That's pretty awesome, thanks.

So he is doing hunting next? Runetracker is down so I can't really see what he started on after 200m FM.

How many RuneScape originals from 2001 are still here?
Wow, that's an odd realisation. Started in summer 2001 myself.

200M in all Skills
Been discussed a couple of pages back. I think it was C2 woodcutting with ppl clearing dungeon for him.

200M in all Skills
And Suomi is probably getting 200m woodcutting in the next few hours. Unless he went to sleep.

200M in all Skills
Ideally, buyable xp wouldn't exist at all, but those days are behind us. Jagex will stop at nothing to secure their financial interests. I wouldn't be surprised if they made buying xp for a new skill extra appealing.

200M in all Skills
Most people wouldn't do that of course. But with these top players, we're talking about extremes. And it's a bit theoretical of course. Not trying to say that they are paying for xp, because it seems that they don't.

200M in all Skills
Regardless of the fact that it is indeed quite hard to hide, these people have also demonstrated that they have no problem with spending a lot of time on the game. I doubt they would replace spending time with spending a lot of cash. I saw people mentioning spending 5000 dollars per month.. Come on.. most people do not even make that much in salary, and I'm pretty sure the top players do not have the time to get a job that pays that well. In short: I can't imagine top players wasting the cash they have while they obviously have enough time on their hands.

10 Year Veteran Cape + Solomon's Store, 17th July
Sad. Can't get the cape despite the fact that my account is from 2001. Jagex says I need to wait another year, pointing at an account creation in 2003. I know Jagex' servers don't allow for the exact account creation date of players from 2001, but I thought they were given a date in 2002...

No more Bonus XP weekends
Lol, this may actually be spot on.

George Sampson visits Jagex
Well, Jagex apparently saw this guy played Runescape and invited him over. Resulted in a cheap promotion for the game. I can understand it from Jagex' viewpoint, even though I've never heard of the guy.

Drumgun is most definitely Dutch.

Squeal of Fortune "Updates" was: Spin Results (970 spins)
I think 10% of members spending money is too high, as well as the number of 50 dollar. I think al of members that would buy spins do it only once, just to check, while only a small proportion regularly spends money on it. Of course, nobody has the correct numbers except for Jagex, but this is way too high. I don't think SoF increases income for Jagex by 50%, although I think it does add substantially.

Squeal of Fortune "Updates" was: Spin Results (970 spins)
Interesting data on this thread. With all these updates I get the feeling this SoF thing is rather a decent money maker for Jagex. Heard too many people say they bought some spins.. and those things are expensive when compared with monthly membership. I wonder what percentage of the members has actually paid for spins. Jagex will never release such information of course. Personally, I'm never buying spins.

200M in all Skills
This might've been asked before, but did Suomi stop farming to get his RC done asap?

200M in all Skills
Any idea whether Jagex is already working on fixing this? This whole max number thing is getting kinda silly imo.

Possible second bot nuke already?
Wasn't it one in 200k for a fair while now already? I thought so too. I don't feel it has changed.

200M in all Skills
There are probably a fair amount of people that could've gotten 200m all *if* they continued playing. Thing is, getting 200m all is not just being efficient, it also means you have to invest (way too much) time. There are almost no people that can keep going at the rate that suomi is going and keep that up for many years. If I cared, I could have 200m all now, since I started this game more than 10 years ago. But I didn't ;)

Possible second bot nuke already?
Why do people think they do mass bans? Does it really make sense that Jagex collects thousands of accounts that are confirmed bots to simply ban them all in one day? Don't forget that people's memberships expiring and causing them to be taken off the hiscores is also a cause. People go on and off the hiscores daily... but gaining 50k ranks in a day? That can only be a mass ban. That's not just simply hundreds of thousands of accounts losing membership.
-
Possible second bot nuke already?
*Just* another mass ban? This seems rather huge. Some people gaining almost 50k ranks means that they must have banned hundreds of thousands. I also saw suomi gain ranks in several 200m skills (got some myself as well), which means also high levelled players were banned. This is big.

RuneScape Ads on UK TV
The game in the advertisements looks nice, where can I play it? And gosh, I didn't even know Jagex created a new game. [/sarcasm] While tv ads might bring in some players, this truly is deceptive.

Bonfires
Theres no going back now. I actually think i forgot the point i was trying to make. I think it had something to do with choosing between eating apples or oranges while playing CoD. Alright, I'll stop with going offtopic, and toss some more wood on the bonfire.
-
200M in all Skills
Yes, it seems that another 200m skill is set to happen quite soon.

Bonfires
We're now comparing a comparison of games with fruit.

Bonfires
Why play a game when you're not going to pay attention to it? Do you enter a game of COD and sit there holding your finger on the trigger while watching TV hoping someone would run into your line of fire? No. You actively participate in the game. Same concept should apply here. People are no longer "playing" the game, they are simply rewarded with exp for logging on the Runescape. Personally, this is just the way I like my RS. Secondly, CoD is a lot different. It's an action-packed shooter, while something like firemaking is hardly comparable. May be it is better to compare it to the new combat system, that will offer excitement and therefore grabs people's attention. Firemaking, again, will not. However, I do like my firemaking when I don't have to pay attention. You could say it is relaxing. Personally, this is also why I like afk rocktail fishing. And I'm not the only one.
