First Pixel Avatar - complete

Featured Replies

after scanning through some tutorials i thought i'd take a crack at making my own pixel avatar using MS Paint (not ready for big sigs yet :-$ ) anywho, this is how far i've gotten so far i know the shading isnt the best but it is my first go after i finally decided to try it. just some inquires, what colour should i use for a dusky morning background and a small sunlight along the water horizon? thanks. i also accept shading tips ::' .

okay, so i've been tinkering a bit with it and came up with this one, does the wave look better or still gotta mess around a bit more?

also edited think'n a dark night might look better in contrast to what it's based.

Nice, especially for your first.

The only C/C would be on the color of the water, and the color of the sky.

Overall, good job. :)

PS: Thank you for copying the thingies in the corners on the border from my pixel sig, and the moon from my fire pixel avvy in my gallery, proves you liked them... <.<

The sky should be more detailed and you should mess with the water a bit, add some texture, change the colours.

well, tweaks here and there, tried to get stars in more of a swirl, didnt come out so bad, and the other was supposed to be a bit of a black hole but couldnt quite get the colours right for them. still tweaking with the water and possibly learn to throw a character sitting on the rock looking up when i learn to draw them right.

well i'll stop the typing and just show it: WaterCliffAvatar2-2.png

You could always add a moon and have it's reflection in the water :) . Personally, that'd seem like an easier way to show the texture of the water using more than just waves and ripples.

Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.
