Quick kingdom question

When should I collect my resources in the "Manage thy Kingdom" mini-game (in Miscellania)?

I assigned my workers to full flax and half full maples and I put 3 mill into the coffers. I plan on returning every day to mine 1 coal to put my approval rating back to 100%.

I'm not sure how it works - can the resources only be collected a week after you put your money in or can they be collected at any time you please yourself?

You can collect you resources at any time as long as it has been atleast 1 day since you first collected the materials. For instance, say I put 7.5M in the coffers, I will not be able to collect any logs or flax until the next day at that time. All the logs and flax appear at one time, not gradually. So, say you wait 2 and a half days. You will only get 2 days worth of material. Then, on the half day, you can collect and get one full day.

If you need more information, Tip.It has a great guide on this...

It can be found here...

You should try and collect your items as late as possible - the reason for this is special "bonus" items. (bear in mind all figures below are estimates)

say for every 100 coal, you recieve one gem.

If you collect when you have 250 coal - you will get 2 gems

you wait until another 250 - another 2 gems = 4 gems

If you wait, until you have 500 coal - you will get 5 gems

So wait as long as your money can last before collecting, escpecially if its bonus items (nests/seeds/gems etc) your after.

Ah, interesting, thank you for the insight.

Do these "bonuses" accumulate progressively for example the more maples they cut the more chance there is of obtaining bird's nests with better rewards inside?

With bird nests an optimal strategy is to put 9 workers on maples and 6 on something else (flax or coal). 9 maple workers will give you 803 maple logs and 8 bird nests (1 nest for 100 maples).

I personally get the rewards daily because of one simple reason: I plant tree seeds from the nests for Farming exp. It means that I must plant daily and collect new seeds daily. If you intend to sell seeds, then you may decide to collect once a few days or so. But still, I don't see why not to collect daily - you visit the island daily anyway to keep your favor at 100%, right?

Yes, your last statement is very true, if I made it all the way up north just to gain 1 approval percent, I should collect my resources. <.<

However what I'm concerned with most is whether I actually receive more resources or bonuses if I wait longer for them to collect. If anyone could answer this, I'll be happy. ::'

I guess you might get more bonuses, as their number is based on a rounded division. But someone need to try to say for sure.

Anyway, in case of 9 maple workers, you would be so close to the rounded number, so I would not make sense to wait.

You would have to wait 34 days to get an additional bird nest.

I see, so what do you recommendI assign my workers to for this method of collecting resources daily to maximum potential - 9 maples and 6 flax?

yes, because of bird nests and tree seeds from them. Tree seeds are very expensive. If you sell them you will get more money than from extra flax. Or you can raise your Farming for free as I do with these seeds.

Also maple logs became more profitable recently. Little known fact is that Charter Trader Store in Brimhaven buys unstrung maple longs for 112 gp each if you wear Karanja gloves (1) which are given after you completed all Easy tasks from the diary . So if you use the maple logs you get for raising fletching, you can sell unstrung bows and get 112 gp from every log as a result.

Yes I heard about this, is it worth it to fletch the maples your workers cut into unstrung longs and sell or is it jsut a waste of time?

Does anyone know roughly how much maples can be fletched per hour? :x

And Vaskor, you collect your maples and flax from the 9 maple workers and 6 flax workers daily to maximise the profit of the bird's nest being collected?

I am lvl 87 fletch, but I do it occasionally. When I am reading something and not paying much attention to the game, I do fletch my maples :-) and sell them later in Brimhaven. There are quicker ways to make money for sure. But for middle level fletchers it is a very good way to raise the levels with profit.

Haven't measured. I fletch mine on background, so it is slower than it could be if I do it without pauses.

I actually collect 9 maples and 6 coals, but flax probably better than coal money wise. I keep max possible number of bird nests and maximize # coal/flax because they are easier to sell than maple logs.

I see. Do you assign your workers to 9 maples and 6 coals purely based on the fact that you need the tree seeds in the bird's nest?

I'm not looking to further use any of the resources (except perhaps fletching maple longs and selling to Karamja) and am looking for the best combination of workers for max money making (from selling the resources). Would this be 10 flax and 5 maples (as many guides suggest) or your (unique) method of 9 maples and 6 coal/flax? Or is your method mostly based on luck of what you get in the nests?

ty =)

If you enjoy using Miscellania and want to make money then I am part of a clan whose objective is to maximise profits from miscellania;

Go to z7.invisionfree.com/miscellanian_masters

We do not only play around with miscellania, we have events and such too. Don't worry about the 6 months + requirement at the top, very few of our members have been at it for that long. The most important thing is you know well what you're doing with the kingdom.

We also know how to make much more profit from the kingdom. So why not come and join us? We are open to everyone who has done Royal Trouble quest, and who is able to use miscellania (has 1.35mcash or more in total is very helpful). For those of you that know invisionfree you will know it is a safe site. For those that don't know, I stress now that you should NOT use your runescape password when creating an account on our site, and have a virus checker enabled. Just to be safe :ohnoes:

Yes, max number of tree seeds is the main factor for me. I also think it would give you max money. Here is my math:

9 maple, 6 flax results in 803 maples, 750 flax, 9 bird nests and 1-2 herb seeds.

80300 + 75000 + 80000 (lowest average from tree seeds) + 2000 = 237300 (237K).

With 100 flax and 5 coal, 3 herb seeds, 2 gems

125000 + 72500 (coal for 190ea) + 4000 + 4000 = 205500 (205K)

Pure flax/coal method is faster cash though as these are easier to sell than maples and tree seeds.

Well your method does seem to rake in more money than what I collected yesterday with 10 flax and 5 maples -

446 maples

1250 flax

4 bird's nest (with 3 fruit tree seeds - papaya, apple, banana - and 1 emerald ring)

1 marr seed

1 toadflax seed

= about 160K-170K I think

I tried your method and I'll be collecting today so I'll see how that goes =).

EDIT Hmm, it seems a papaya seed is worth 55k, so I would've gotten about 210k o.O
