i have never used a cannon before. It will decay after firing 400 cannon balls. Do you suggest me to train slayer with a cannon?

Cannons wont decay if you pick them up before fireing 400 balls, then putting it back down, let it fire another 399 balls, pick it up, repeat.

 

 

 

So the only costs you will have is the 750k (?) for the cannon, and the cannonballs, which is still pretty expensive but a very fast way to train..

If you want good slayer exp and get good tasks. Then sure...sometimes Slayer pays for it back.

Cannons are only like 550k-600k and you can get another from the dwarf if yours decays.

One more advice about raising Slayer with cannon.

 

Take your Slayer assignments from the Edgeville master. He gives a lot of assignments good for using cannon such as dagonnath (under lighthouse), kalphites (room with high level guardians), werewolves and trolls.

Yes.

 

You don't get hp xp though, and the xp is split differently to usual with a cannon. i think it's 1/4 the usual xp from training range manually, might be half i can't remember.

Yes, you gain ranged exp from cannon. 1/4 of the cannon hits. Which is probably the fastest way to raise Ranged (challenged only by Chinchompas). That's how I raised mine to 80 anyway :-)

I'm glad when I was playing on my main I got 80-99 range using a cannon and you got 1/2 the exp.

Erm, unless they've changed it, im still pretty sure you get 1/2 the range xp using a cannon, and not 1/4. :uhh:

They did change it, must of been since I retired though? And now you need 50+ range too.

I have'nt used one in a long time, but its one of the few GOOD range items 1 pray players can use effectively -.-

Oi guys, the cannon degrades after a set TIME, not after a number of balls fired.

 

 

 

I've gone 800+ balls fired at dagganoths before picking it up and putting it back down again...

I confirm. I also had occasions where I would fire a lot of cannonballs (800+) without the cannon decaying. In general you don't need to worry about it as there is a warning message before the cannon gets decayed, so you have a chance to pick it up and set it down afresh.
