cheGuevara
I just made a scaled down version to fit into my signature. I think it turned out decent for a first go. What do you think? (I know there's many other things that look similar to this, and it's not very original. You don't need to tell me this in your comment). C&C are appreciated. jak722
Um I dont know the first thing about vectoring... But the i got to say, make the skin tone anything more than white. Dyronamics
Arrgh! Put the eyes where they ought to be! The picture doesn't look appealing with the bold areas of colour, a decent mouth and then as if as an afterthough, two crosses, way off the real position of the eyes and unbalanced. They dont even give the feeling of eyes because they clash so much with the style of the rest of it and they're slightly hidden. Put in some vectorised eyes slightly lower than the left cross and both at the same height. I would also advise losing the white areas where the ears were. Colour them the same as the hair. The text is not comfortable and easy for a viewer to read, not because of the font but because it's vertical and reading downwards. Vertical and reading upwards is acceptable but not downwards. In fact horizontal or slightly tilted from horizontal is best. Something to fill the large black area would also be a good idea, or maybe arrange your name to fill more of it. Try doing a border to frame the whole thing. Ryan
There's no shading or anything...Along with good pixel art, vector needs to be shaded to even look half decent.
tttia
I find it ironic that the one posting about shading has no vector shading in his either...only patches of tone. Anyway, I rather like it. The eyes do in fact distract though. I would also remove the chin outline or find some other way to suggest it. btw, which program?

cheGuevara
Ryan, LP: How would you suggest going about coloring it? tttia: Thanks, I made it in Photoshop 7. Dyronamics: Thanks for the in-depth comment ( ) I'll try the thing that you suggest tomorrow, as it's late here I have to go to bed soon. Thanks for all of the comments and criticism! jak722
Can you vector in PS 6? If so how then? SubDivi
Can you vector in PS 6? If so how then? Pen Tool? If I were you, and I was considering vector as a path I might take, i'd be sure to get Adobe Illustrator. Trust me, Photoshop isn't exactly something you want to vector with; Illustrator was made for it. Vector shading? ^^; Alot of vector doesn't have shading. If it does, it's often restricted to solid shapes of color, otherwise you often would have to raster your image. Thats why I say Illustrator.. gradient mesh! :P
