Ok, first do you need the following;

*Monitor

*Keyboard

*Mouse

*Case

*DVD-RW

*CD-RW

If you answer me the above question I'll find you the parts.

Another question which is not completely on the topic. Are you planning on youing this computer just for RuneScape, school work and web surfing? Or serious gaming or CAD/3D work?

But he can't build a laptop, nor get the same performance for the money.

Not to mention he never once that he wanted a laptop. So why post about it.

It is difficult to build a computer...

there are some pretty good computers I've seen going for <$800, but if he wants to try to build his own, it's his thing.

Joe i have the following:

RAM:

Monitor:

Keyboard:

Mouse:

i want

Motherboard:

Cpu:

Case:

Fans:

Power:

ETC.

I'm interested what type of things you have (eg. RAM: 1GB DDR2)

I've been using AMD processors for all the time i've used computer, so I'd recommend a AMD athlon processor, maybe some 3000+ or so.

I was thinking of buying myself a AMD athlon 4600+ but I bought 3000, and seems to work great.

It's speed in GhZ's is 1.6ghz but it should be same as intel 3ghz.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Also, don't be scared to ask someone at shops their opinion (if they know something about computers)

Gwarr!

$484.42 american

$551.16 australian

Case

Burner

Hard Drive

Processsor

Motherboard

Mouse

Do i choose good?

The only thing I really have to point out is that motherboard. It does not say it supports a core 2 duo. That chipset is also kind of old.

Another thing is that you said you already have ram to use but what kind is it? Is it DDR or DDR2? If you only have 1gb of ram I would also recommend to upgrade to 2gb.

No graphics card either? If not make sure the motherboard has onboard graphics.

If your budget is in Australian then why are you picking a site that only ships to the US?

Edit:just looking at your choices. Will edit again :P

2nd edit:

Burner-fine

Hdd-fine

MOtherboard and cpu. These wont fit..best thing to do if your not sure then best get a set deal on a motherboard and cpu that will fit each other, and you should be able to get them cheaper together too. Mouse and keyboard dont depend on anything else and a usb keyboard and mouse is fine. Hope that helps.. a bit ::'
