Cutting shilo gems, crushed = xp

Recommended Posts

I noticed I'm getting xp from crushing shilo gems, I went to check.. I'm kind of surprised that your guide said you get no xp from crushing gems.

XP for crushing gems was only recently added/discovered. Unfortunately it's difficult to get good xp data on it since one can't get a number of them in a row, and it's easy to be deceived about the fractional (decimal) xp.

We're working on it, additional data is appreciated.

it's a lot easier to get over yourself when you look at intelligence the same way you look at beauty, or height, or eye color: being smart is easy, but being good is hard ... being smart is handed to you, being good is handed to *nobody*.

Ok I guess I'm on it :)

I have around 300 uncut Opal to cut (should be enough to make logs on)

I'll have to mine loads of Jade and Red Topaz again.

Here's what I'm going to do. I'm going to take chisel and 27 opal (or whatever gem). Write down what's my crafting xp is then start cutting them all. After that, I'll see some crushed gem and count them... then write down my new crafting xp and numbers of cutted, crushed, such as:

I have 20 cutted and 7 crushed - previous craft xp 120,000 - post craft xp 120,435 - Cutted only xp: 400 - Actual xp obtained 435

or I'll make it more compacted (excluding cutted xp, actual xp)

This one is for Opal:

All of them are 27 Opal in inventory

I will record PREVIOUS craft xp and AFTER craft xp.

I will tell count of cutted gems AND crushed gems

Example:

120,000 <---- previous xp

Gems: 20 - Crushed: 7 - 120,328 <---- after xp

So, 20 Opal is 300 xp. Expected crafting xp would have been 120,300 if crushed gem gave no xp. The extra 28 is sitting there. 28 xp / 7 crushed gems = 4xp per crushed. This is just example, not actual log. The actual log is below.

1,136,879

Cutted: 25 - Crushed: 2 - 1,137,261

Cutted: 21 - Crushed: 6 - 1,137,599

Cutted: 23 - Crushed: 4 - 1,137,959

Cutted: 23 - Crushed: 4 - 1,138,319

Cutted: 20 - Crushed: 7 - 1,138,646

Cutted: 24 - Crushed: 3 - 1,139,017

Cutted: 24 - Crushed: 3 - 1,139,389

Cutted: 25 - Crushed: 2 - 1,139,771

Cutted: 24 - Crushed: 3 - 1,140,143

Cutted: 23 - Crushed: 4 - 1,140,503

Cutted: 25 - Crushed: 2 - 1,140,886

Cutted: 24 - Crushed: 3 - 1,141,257

Cutted: 25 - Crushed: 2 - 1,141,640

Cutted: 25 - Crushed: 2 - 1,142,022

Ok, after a short study; it's not whole 4 xp or 3 xp at least, it's in between 3.1 to 3.9 per. Off to mining more gems.

I thought about donating shilo gems to you and you guys can figure out xp yourself, rather than relying on my data. Any of tip.it crew, sent me PM your rsn if you wish to research xp per crush (I'm donating about 120 each shilo gem)

I've analyzed the data you've provided, and the experience is between 3.5 and 4 exp per crushed opal. On the whole, you cut 331 and crushed 47. You gained 5,143 experience, 4965 exp from cutting opals, the remaining 178 from crushing them. On average, you gained 3.787234 experience per crush. I believe that this would equate to 3.8 exp per crush.
