ClareJonsson
If you really want to rate your PC, find out your Windows experience rating. To do this, right click my computer and select Properties. Click Windows Experience Index, and then click Update my score. Tell us your Windows experience rating. My present system is: CPU: Intel® Core2 CPU 2.4GHz Memory: 2047Mb Dual channel. Graphics: NVidia GeForce 8500 GT 512mb Hard Drive: 400Gb SATA. And I get a Windows experience of: 4.8 The thing that will let your system down is your graphics. From what I can tell it is on board, this is little use for anything more than basic desktop, word processing and lower end games. It's also using up some of your memory. Don't be expecting to run Doom III with all the settings turned up. The rest of your system isn't too bad. Is your hard drive IDE or SATA? By Talal28 at 2007-07-30 I'd rate it a 5/10. You can't do any serious gaming with onboard graphics, unless you turn down the settings all the way. Brandon_7
I'll give you a 6/10, the Vista Home Premium kinda kills it. Along with the built-in graphics card. I'd suggest buying a new one.

Home premium isn't too bad (please don't start an anti Vista debate). Okay so he can't logon to domain or anything but he does have Media Center! The Media Center that comes with Vista is pretty awesome! Shame though with his on board gfx he can't output it to a mega huge television. I wouldn't mind knowing what his Windows Experience comes out at, and I wonder if it will be able to use the Aero theme? [Assist-X]
Talal28
I think the rating is a 3.2 :| Im not going to be doing SERIOUS gaming.. Maybe a few like counterstrike or Gta san andreas.. But do you think i would be able to use hypercam and be in a very crouded world at the same time? :-k
das1330
Running hypercam on a runescape world won't be a problem, but really any real contemporary computer games will have a hard time running on that hardware. As said before, everything is good, aside from the graphics.
ClareJonsson
Just to raise awareness about Windows Experience rating, this will become more important in future. Presently, games have a hardware requirement, cpu, gfx and so forth. Quite soon we will see games having a Windows Experience requirement on the box. Which will be much easier judging if a game will run correctly on your system. The down side to this is when MS start to release service packs, the Windows Experience results will change. So I'm guessing it will say something like: Minimum Requirements: Vista, Windows Experience 4.3 SP1 Recommended Requirements: Vista, Windows Experience 6.2 SP1 The above means if you want to get the full experience from the game, you will need to have Vista, Service Pack 1, and have the hardware level to give you a Windows Experience level of 6.2! nyyankees588
Im not sure about how Counterstrike would run on that, on my somewhat old comp (about 4 years) I have 512mb ram (yeh its low) Intel Pentium 4 with Hyper Threading technology (which makes up for the ram) and a intergrated intel graphics card. I play counter strike and can't do some of the maps such as de_dust because of the graphics card and ram. Getting another sig[removed]

If your computer can't handle it then your resolution is probably set too high. A higher resolution = more resource intense. Just change your in-game resolution to 1024x768 and make sure you have it set to run in full screen.
nyyankees588
Uhh m8 counter strike may be old, but it has some extremely high requirements. My resolution is set at the lowest it can and I still can't play certain servers such as de_dust and other very demanding servers. Also counter strike has some extremely good graphics... One question; about the windows experience rating, I'm guessing thats only on vista since I can't seem to find it with xp on my comp. ClareJonsson
One question; about the windows experience rating, I'm guessing thats only on vista since I can't seem to find it with xp on my comp. Yes that's correct, it's Vista only I'm afraid. It all ties in with the core systems MS has developed for Vista, such as the completely re-written audio sub-system bringing us much lower latency, meaning games will be able to generate more audio effects in real time. The sound in Vista is also good news for audiophiles as presently the Vista driver model has even less latency than current ASIO drivers! Doomster
Intel 945G - very, VERY weak! The graphics are GMA950, a slight improvement on the 915's GMA900, as they are actually Vista (WDDM) driver compatible (supporting Premium/Aero glass). Primary weakness of the Intel onboards at this leval, is they do not have hardware T&L, something which has been pretty much standard on graphics cards from as far back as the Radeon 7500 and the Geforce 2MX. This is a "show stopper" for many games, regardless of the supposed DX9 capability. Even the really ultra-budget cards would do better, but maybe not good enough. Nadril
Spend 80 bucks and get yourself something that can preform better than that video card. Hell, my current video card only cost near $150 and is great (7900GS).
