For the final fight, against the boss, which prayer should i use? Since it attacks with range and melee, and it summons 1 monster of each type...i'll be using initiate armor to fight, along with a whip. Which prayer would be the most effective in this situation?

You should protect against ranged, IMO, and stay away from him (using ranged or mage).

As soon as you make it into the tunnels that lead to the Giant Scarab's chamber, run to the furthest upper-left corner of the room. There's a stalagtite that you can hide behind. The stalagtite is right up agains the northern wall of the chamber and behind you will be the cliff. This position is very safe and you won't be flanked.

 

 

 

Hopefully, the Giant Scarab would have to move into position to use its range attacks on you. It'll be blocked by the stalagtite and there won't be enough room for its minions to get to you.

 

 

 

So, all you need to use is the Protect Range prayer, 1 super anti-poison, some food, and your best magic attack. You should also bring with you an emergency 1-click teleport like the Ectophial.

This is the method that I created. The best part about it is that I didn't need any food.

 

 

 

First, I wore a mystic skirt and a mystic hat. I wore a rune plate as protection there and a rune kite.

 

 

 

I then was protected against range and range fairly well. So, I prayed Mellee.

 

 

 

Now, for an attack plan! I used mage against the Giant Scarab. The spell I used was Iban's Blast. It was very useful and amazing against the monster. I was hitting very high on him and it wasn't even a fight.

 

 

 

The rest is fairly simple. I brought a one click teleport (ectophial) and some sharks just in case. Remember to only aim at the Giant Scarab. Once you kill the Giant Scarab, the other enemies will disappear.

if u fail i recommend protect from melee and fight it, everytime it summons a monster that's range or mage, kill it and return back to the boss, make sure to bring good food since the fight could take awhile cuz of that tactic

I did it using simple melee way :-)

 

At combat 95 I wore black dragonhide to get max protection from magic and ranged, used protect from melee prayer, potted up and killed the beast ignoring the helpers.

 

 

 

Took me about 10 Sharks though.

I had a low combat level when i did it so it was very hard for me. One of the times though i was fighting it i ran back to saftey, then all of the sudden i released that not only was his helpers not attacking me neither was he, and i just sat there until he died.
