WARNING TROLL POST AHEAD

You've been warned. I now ask why you avoided to list every other genre, I mean you don't even list Rap/Hip Hop or Classical(only 2 bigger genres tip iters might listen to, atleast I think, unless you don't group all the subgenres of rock like emo and stuff....I hope I'm making sense). Right, so explain to me WHY screaming at a microphone and plucking strings, and slamming metal and plastic makes it any more talented then making a completely metaphoric and multiple syllable 4 verse song? Really, how do you relate to metal? You just like to hear the actual music part of it? DOES metal EVEN HAVE a point in their songs? I can't be assed to keep typing so answer what I've already written before I come back for the second round.

Dude.. they have to make it sound rewally nice... not that easy you know

But why is metal and rock better than pop crap?. . .Let's make this a mature debate as possible so no flaming.

Wow. Just, wow.

Pointless thread. You should realise that a logical debate on this forum is impossible.

But anyway, Metal.

Agreed, this is a pointless thread. How can a debate be about "why is rock better than metal?". Also until you define what pop music is i couldn't pick.

I'm always one to say "music is about opinion, you can't say any genre is better than another because they're not meant to be similar", using a football example: you can't compare a goalie and a striker.

I personally like metal, it gets bad press from people who don't appreciate it, much like pop. Having said this so many pop bands are manufactured, can't play their instruments and don't actually sing at their concerts, as far as im concerned it doesn't count as music if its not a band making music but a record producer manufacturing a song. The modern day genre of "pop", although its such a broad spectrum (im speaking from the little kiddie pop bands and singers) has ruined what people think of pop because you could say the beatles, queen etc were pop bands and were of course good.

If this thread had rap put into it i could list a really good argument to why rap is terrible but since it isn't i'll not stray off topic.

+1

And people said this on the first page, and everyone seems to be straying from it.

Pop is Popular Music, ie whatever is popular now. It's not just Brittany Spears and N'SYNC. Black Sabbath can be considered as pop. Children of Bodom is pop. People have a stereotypical view of pop as boy bands and stuff...
