Looking for a free webhosting site

Featured Replies

Ok, I'm looking for a free webhosting site which offers the following;

*PHP (5.0 or higher)

*MySQL

*PHPMyAdmin (so many sites that have php, but don't have myphpaddmin its silly)

*1gb+ storage space.

*Allows reading from url's

Before anyone says google it I have.

And I 've tried the following;

*Freewebs, no php/mysql

*AwardSpace, no url reading and low storage.

*ZendURL, PHPMyAdmin doesn't work

*4000webs Hosting, don't ask....

*110mb Hosting as bad as 4000webs...

*And a few dozen more I can't remember.

Thanks for any help in advance.

PS. If no-one knows any sites which offer what I'm looking for free. Then recommend me some paid for hosting (nothing overly expensive)

You don't really need the webhost to have PHPMyAdmin you know, you can easily install PHPMyAdmin on your own webspace if you like. FTP it to a folder within the webspace (Suggest calling the folder something random that you will remember), follow the installation instructions in the Documentation.html file, and hey presto your own PHPMyAdmin.

You are better off checking out http://www.webhostingtalk.com and getting a really cheap pay package. It will be much better than anything free and probably cost you less than 5 dollars a month

I host with http://www.dreamhost.com, have had no problems with them and have been hosting with them for a number of years.

you can setup a localhost server with apache, mysql, myphpadmin.

then other ppl can go to it, but as far as getting one to meet the needs you mentioned you will have to pay like 5$ a month

There use to be several hosting "search" sites - where you could fill out a form (I.E. How much space do you need? 200mb+, 500mb+, 1gig; banners: y/n) and then it would return some hosts that meet your criteria. Can't remember either names off the top of my head, there were two I use to use when I was younger and used free hosts... but I can't recall; it was something simple like hostsearch.com or in that ball park.

Anywho, I am just using webspace that came bundled with something else I bought atm, quite cheap actually.
