Smithing question

Featured Replies

I'm about to buy 1k iron bars, what item should i smith for the most expirience?

Treasure trail items: 9

Dragon drops: 0

To my knowledge they give the same experience per bar. 1 bar items give 20 experience, 2 bars give 40 experience, 3 bars give 60 experience, ect.

Follow the doughnut to my blog! :D

All items give the same xp per bar. You get 33.5 xp (I believe thats the amount) per bar no matter what item you make.

Check me out on YouTube!

You get the same experience, no matter what you make. There's a specific amount of xp you get for every bar you use, so 5 iron daggers give the same xp as 1 plate body.

If you're a member, i suggest you make iron throwing knives. You can sell those for 40 each (or maybe slightly more) and break-even, or make a small profit.

If you're f2p, it doesn't really matter what you make as you'll make a big loss anyways. You're probably best of making the highest item you can and sell this to a speciality shop.

EDIT: Damn, i wasn't fast enough

There is only 1 difference to that rule, and that is when you make Cannonballs, it onlys gives 25.6xp smithing (not including smelting). Iron bars are 25xp ea, regardless of what you smith

If you dont care if you lose all your bars in the process, plate bodies are the fastest, if you want money back, knives are good choice but quite a lot slower.

If you're a non-member, make your iron bars into iron plates and then I'll buy those iron plates for 150gp each >.
