note that i'm not done yet, i would like some tips and suggestions as to how to improve the quality of my coloring. now don't tell me to get a new coloring program, because the idea was to only use the 24 colors in paint. its sort of a wabi sabi thing i came up with.

well any way...rate it please :)

great choice of colours, just notice when you are colouring use the finest painting brush so you don't have anything sticking out, once you zoom up on the picture you can see slightly colouring out of place. other then that great work , i know work in progress but it deserves 3/5

Mess with the best, die like the rest

No offense but that is not that great of a job coloring... the line work that you are coloring is drawn most likely using photoshop brushes instead of pencils which cause the color to spread out just like a real brush would when painting... this happens alot with character creators as well since they are geared towards the color sets designed for them...

Pieces like this are designed to be colored in photo shop or gimp (not sure on gimp) where you can use layers to color specific parts in turn and on top of one another... it doesn't work that well in paint...

i understand what your saying, but as i said before, the idea wasn't to have a perfect coloring job, like any other generic drawing. wabi sabi, means its perfect due to its imperfections. and the lineart of this was drawn by hand, its spread out because the scanner sucks XD

It's not that the scanner sucks (whether it does or not is nothing I would know), it's more or less that a pen/pencil doesn't leave a solid line. To the naked eye, the line looks solid but there are many shades of the graphite/ink on the paper.
