It's also worth noting that Firewire actually takes less system resources to shuffle data around than USB. The reason for this is that USB is all done in software so to actually move data the CPU does most of the work, where as Firewire it's mainly done with hardware.

 

 

 

Reminds me of when modems became cheap and a lot of them had problems on low end PCs as they were software modems. If you did anything that required a lot of CPU, the modem would disconnect :lol:

USB = max 480mbits

 

FIREWIRE = max 800mbits

 

 

 

 

 

Do the math and u know wich one is faster :)

 

These days cpu time is enough available to dont disconnect the modem :)
