WutangFlu
...no they all generate heat, If you're looking for low heat though a dual core with a good heat sink is a good idea.
ltb2006
Yeah as above,or look for a mobile processor you could put in a desktop system
blade995
Something with low voltage too. Don't get a pentium 4 because they are ovens. The best processor for the least heat would be the AMD Athlon X2 35W or 65W.

Sorry but in my experience Athlons are the worst for heat, also they have terrible thermal cut out diodes so if anything goes wrong with their heat dissipation, they burn up taking the motherboard with them. If the same thing happens to an intel CPU, the thermal cutout diode slows the CPU down eventually stopping it saving all your precious hardware. Go for an intel dual core CPU, presently they beat athlons hands down. [Assist-X]
JoeDaStudd
There are not processors that don't generate heat. How ever there are some which generate heat less then others. Processors to avoid; *Celeron - lower versions of pentium's, performance wise they suck and heat wise they are only slightly better then pentium's. *Pentium (mainly 4 and Dual's) - they generate amazing amounts of heat, pentuim 4 D's are the worst. *High peformance processors like the AMD FX series and Intels Extreme series. They are designed to offer the max performance no matter the cost (cash, power consumption, heat, ect). Processors to get; *AMD's Energy Effective versions, they are designed to use a lower wattage and in turn generate less heat *Intel's Core 2 Duo line, when not over clocked the lower models generate less heat then you would think (hence why you can overclock them so high), due to the core being more effective and the smaller nm manufacturing process. Depending on why your worried about the heat. I would say to either; *get a energy effective CPU *Buy a tower heatsink (keeps the CPU cool and makes as little noise as possible) *Stop worrying, all CPU's generate heat as long as it doesn't go above the manufacturers recommend temp you will be fine.
