well, my membership ran out and i got every item i wanted in f2p in multiples. great, now im set. i was smithing a bunch of steel bars i made and i didnt pay attention and i took all my bars out! crap eh? so now i cant use steel. does anyone know a fast, cost effective way to use a bar other than steel to smith?

I'm sorry, but the words "fast" "cost effective" and "F2P" just don't go together. Simple as. Get membership again and finish off those steel bars, and if you want some smithing xp and cash, buy iron ores and ROF's, make iron bars, and make knives, sell knives, repeat.

He's quite wrong, you can smelt mithril as a f2p and make a nice little profit. An incredibly fast way to gain smithing and mage exp is to superheat mith bars. Just buy all of your ores and some nats, superheat, and sell the bars. You can break even or even make a small profit, but more importantly, you can make 20k+ smithing exp and 45k+ magic exp per hour, all while breaking even or even making a small profit. Not bad, eh?

awesome idea! thank you so much, i was starting to lose hope. i will most definitely try this. i always knew about superheating mith but never realised it could be used to make money or 20k+ smithing exp per hour. thank you so much

i have every ore and bar in my bank less steel right now. i feel like such a moron for taking out my most valuable smithing tool! oh well, its just a game.
