How do I know if I've deleted a keylogger?

Featured Replies

About a week ago I downloaded a file with 'Ardamax Keylogger'in it, and I ran a virus check with McAfee and a spyware check with S&D, and I still don't know if its gone, because its "invisible". Can someone tell me how I can know?

I guess you can always make a fake e-mail, type in the password and wait to see if someone jacks it. :P

if the scans don't pick anything up, it's probably gone.

I personally use this program, it lets you know everytime a program attempts to hook your keyboard, or watch your screen. It tells you the file name, where it's located, and if you want it to have access to your screen.

If this program can't catch it, nothing can.

As it is I think my parents laptop has a keylogger considering someone's jacked both my msn and rs account.

Luckily there's nothing on here, I've used spybot/avg/avast to scan it and someone else has too.

I'll try this download now and see, and my passwords are all changed, though now I have the trouble of waiting a week for my msn to come back...-.- slow service

Aaron, throwing my advice around all over. :P

If you happen to know exactly what file you downloaded (if it was on tipit let me know the topic name), or if you can link me to the infected download, I can tell you exactly where the "Invisible" files are located and how to remove them. Please let me know via PM.

No-one has jacked my rs account, msn, or anything.

I've checked the IP every single time I sign onto rs, and its always been mine. I went back to the download site and it was posted like a year ago, so the guy might have deleted it. Thanks Aaron for the program, I downloaded it too and scanned but it also didn't find anything. Thanks to everyone for the help, I think there should be a sticky on how to remove/ completely delete Ardamax keylogger because there are so many questions about it lol, again, thanks. :)

Did you read my post?

Also, the sticky you just mentioned... may already be in the works as I thought of it a while ago. ;) There's no "follow these steps to delete the keylogger" for them though, every keylogger does different things and they're always named differently. As I said, please pass the download on to me.
