advanced question about dagannoth kings

There was one thing on the tip.it dagannoth kings guide I didn't understand. It says that you are supposed to focus on killing rex and prime if in a small group.

 

If I do this, however, supreme continues to attack me with powerful range attacks. How can I focus on only prime without taking range damage from supreme?

just range prime far away from supreme spawn and pick up drops with telegrab(still kil sup once). But that guide really dosnt give best info so dont be to focused on what the guide says.

I found a guide that looked a lot more useful a while back but I can't find it. On my one actual trip to dag kings I killed supreme all of 1 time before running out of sharks and losing my guthan spear, helm, and whip. I probably took too much valuble stuff anyway for my lack of experience.

If you are going to do solo maging you need a suicider with you. The suicider would rune throw axe for you, go down to the dag king lair and attack supreme and prime, distracting both and giving you the chance to run to your maging safespot. From there don't stray near middle unless you want supreme on you again. Prime could be easier to get on you, so mage pray all the time when that happens. A lurer would also attempt to lure supreme to you as well.

Generally, in these cases, they're recomending that you pray against range. That allows you to ignore Supreme since his attacks won't hurt you anyway. First of all, I'll say i HAVE solo'd the DK's before; however, doing this will limit you to 2, maybe 3 DK's per trip max. You are MUCH better off to just ask a third person to come (I assume you already have one partner from the way you're speaking). Have the third person kill Supreme; he basically gets free kills, anyway. Then, let each person just keep whatever kills they get (since it's one per DK). Doing this helps to spread around the damage from the weak things on the outside and will keep supreme off your back.
