September 11, 200718 yr Most likely whatever shortcut you're opening IE with is pointing to "C:\Windows\IE7" rather than "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\" (or their equivalents). Open the latter directory, right click iexplore dot exe then Send To -> Desktop (Create Shortcut).

But i deleted that one and i downloaded it off microsoft site and it works now! Go to: control panel -> add or remove programs Click add or remove windows components on the panel on the left hand side Make sure that only the box for Internet Explorer is checked. Follow the instructions on the wizard and remove internet explorer. Noww double click on the installer you downloaded and install IE7 again.
