anyways yeah, i'm having trouble with this guy, encased in ice =\

 

 

 

The idea was to first draw it normally (not in ice) and then make palletes of all the colors of what they'd look like under the ice and change it after.

 

 

 

now that i'm almost done with him, I'm finding it hard to select appropriate values.

 

 

 

oh, and I (guy killing the fellow in the ice) am not finished. only the guy in the ice is (almost) finished.

 

 

 

 

I haven't done much work with ice, but it sounds to me like your original plan would've worked well enough. Except make the values for the ice that overlays the person a little bit darker than the surrounding ice. Should work in theory. :-w

The only thing that majorly needs work is the Ice (And obviously the guy with his sword through the other).

 

 

 

One thing that looks odd is the leg on the ice. It looks some-what out of proportion compared to the other.

 

 

 

Looks great so far.

For ice, take a very light blue and fill in the box, then with a darker, and lighter blue, add some higlights, going around the character in the darker blue may also add to the effect. I can't really tell, usually I'd take your picture and try that out on it but with the samples it's a little difficult to try and do it so this is just an idea, It should work but I don't know how good it'll look on your particular picture.

I like it very much, although, what people said before, work on the ice a bit.

 

So far it looks very very cool.

I cheated a bit :oops: I used GIMP to see the overlap of my current palletes and an icy color

and by the way that says SMAPLA not SAMPLE, hehe

 

 

 

oh and yes, i did use MisterXman's style of doing the ice, i mean by outlining the 'edges' in lighter ice colors. there really isn't any other way of doing it, darker colors don't work at all for a transparent block

Nice job so far. Now comes the hard part and background. It's always hard to figure something there. ^^

I love it can't wait to see it with the background, also is it supposed to be you stabbing someone who has just had ice barrage cast on them, or the zamorak god sword special attack? , either way i like it.
