Acero Frio
Hello, all. I run two anti-spyware programs- Lavasoft Ad-Aware SE Personal and Spybot- Search and Destroy. However, I have not been able to update Ad-Aware for a few weeks now. It gets to 5% downloaded update, and then says "Error retrieving update". Am I compromising my security by only having one effective anti-spyware program? Thanks, Syrup.
blade995
Well SE personal is an old version. Update to the 2007 version, it's also free.
LinovUSA
Why you running to same function programs, its not a very good idea. You have more chances of them not catching stuff, they will interact with each other and end up not doing their job. Thats my knowledge for you, or should i say experience.

Albosky
It actually only applies to Actively running AntiVirus scanners. it is ALWAYS a good idea to run a second program , not all companies update at the same rate and one may catch something the other missed or isn't yet able to detect. I like to fart silently but deadly in movie theatersArd Choille says (11:41 PM):I wouldn't dare tell you what to do m'dear
