Item recolouring guide

Hello, I'm Aaroniza and I'm bored... so i decided to make this guide on recolouring runescape players , items , objects ...

basically anything if you have enough time (And it meets certain specifications).

Now, you need these:

Graphics Gale ~(Or thats what Im using ... not sure if it will work anywhere else)~

Some patience for the larger more intricate objects

And the image or object or weapon you would like to recolour.

Step 1:

Get your image (You can see mine here : image15xg.png

Step 2:

Zoom in and crop the object you would like , I do this by making everything around the object white (Screen shot here :

image39cm.png Continue to make it white until you have a white box around

your object , so that if you cut and pasted it you would only get your object and a white background...

Step 3:

Cut your image so that you only see the object and the white background create a new image (ctrl + N) and paste the

object onto the area.(My result is here : image48lf.png

Step 4:

Save this file as a gif. With these settings : Optimized : Yes , Interlaced : No , Loop : Doesnt really matter(No...)

Look here for help image52tu.png

NOTE: When you save you will get a prompt saying you have to reduce your file size to 256 colours do you wish to do so?

(click yes)

Step 5:

Now , for the fun stuff :) . Basically on the left hand side of graphics gale there are the colours (256 max. in this case) you

should see the colours for what you want to change (Mines a mithril ore so i see the purple but and the brown bit)

(Image here : image69kk.png

Step 6:

So i suppose your thinking "WOW! theres some pretty colours. This is so totally amazing and will really aid me in

changing the colour of an object. " But ... thats the thing , it does. Basically double click on each of the colours you want

to change (purple for me) and change them to the colour you would like , but you need to change it darkness/lightness

accordingly so ... for me it would be (because im going to change this mith ore into "dragon" ore)

purple/blue = Red

Dark purple/blue = Dark red

Extremely dark purple/blue = Extremly dark red

etc.

NOTE: Most of the colours are dark so just change the darkness slightly accordingly do them all the same colour!

(Image here = image74sv.png

Step 7:

Keep doing this until youve totally covered the whole object with the correct colour

My finished product is here tutorialimage7uv.gif

NOTE: That was only a small image , and infact was pretty hard because there was tonnes of colours the other things I've

done (Imps , cakes and stuff) where actually much easier.

Step 8:

Well basically thats it.... youve finished recolouring your runescape image , I know lots of people will have known how to

do this but the new people who havent done things like this before will ,hopefully, find this helpfull and , I also hope, easy.

Because you can basically make some cool things that actually do look cool in a few minutes if you have the patience.

I hope you liked my tutorial it is my first one so I know its not very good and stuff but ill try and fix things up if i can. Please

give me feedback on this.

Thanks.
