What's the catch?

Ok, a while back I asked about web hosting.

 

 

 

I found a host which seems perfect and a domain selling site which too seems perfect however something doesn't seem right.

 

The total cost of the site would be about ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã15 per year (including 2 years of the domain being registered to me).

 

 

 

This is the hosting site.

 

And I'm planning on buying the domain from this site.

 

Hosting ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã0.83 per month (ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã9.96 per year) exc vat, ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã0.97 per month (ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã11.71 per year) inc vat.

 

The domain name costs ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã2.99 for 2 years.

 

So it should total at ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã14.70 (2.99+11.71) right?

 

I don't know about you guys, but to me it seems to cheap.

 

 

 

What the heck am I over looking?

 

 

 

I've checked the reviews and they all seem to be good (for both sites).

Likelihood is that they are overselling their server space and arnt actually a proper hosting company and are instead reselling from another company. The domain registrar is fine but id be wary of such cheap hosting packages.

 

 

 

However... the company has been going since 2003 so i guess as long as your website isnt business critical and you don't mind the odd hour of downtime every so often it should be fine.

Don't forget to keep backups.

I wouldn't be too worried about it for the small amount of space you're getting. 1gb of disc and 10gb of transfer is extremely small compared to what some companies sell for just a few dollars now.

 

 

 

I'd be willing to give it a shot if that's all the space I need. If it isn't as stable as you'd like you're still only out ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã9.96 if you do a year upfront. Better than eating $60+ for a larger plan that turns out to be unstable.
